Auburn's Lancers
Overview
Auburn's Lancers was a mercenary group founded on one sole principle - vengeance against the Harbingers. Captain Erik Auburn was present for combat actions with the preceding organization which Commander Dupree had belonged to, and blames his dishonorable discharge on the mercenaries. Other members had experienced similar setbacks, and eagerly tracked down the Harbingers to White Reach in order to extract some measure of "justice". Their actual efforts were disorganized, scattered, and eventually caused them to fail in their goals.White Reach Operations
Arriving on White Reach in late December of 3031, Captain Auburn took pains to hide his presence along the Orenn continent's western coastline. They kept monitoring the Harbingers, waiting for an opportunity to take out the command group with a single strike. However, this plan began to fray as operating costs mounted, and Captain Auburn chose instead to bait out the Harbingers by hitting settlements in the Wildstorm Valley. The venue was not conductive to Auburn's tactics of swift aggression, and inevitably Captain Auburn's Zeus was struck by lightning and its ammunition cooked off in a violent explosion. Many of the other forces were concurrently caught in an action by the Harbingers' main force and lost their DropShip.Disbandment
Following the death of Captain Auburn, many members were still interested in actions against the Harbingers and joined the Coral Rebellion in the hopes of being deployed against their foes. After Elizabeth Wallings was arrested, the remnants who evaded capture quickly dispersed and disappeared. Most of the founders who had an axe to grind against Commander Dupree had been either killed or landed in Azali Penitentiary for a long incarceration period.
