A normal day
I woke up in a bed, covered with sheets.
The alarm on my phone was ringing, so I stood up and turned it off.
Just for a few seconds, I thought this was wrong. I couldn't be here, I shouldn't be here. And I shouldn't be alive and human.
I looked at my skin and hands in disbelief. The feeling of the air on my skin... I almost forgot it.
I wanted to believe this. No matter if this was a lie or maybe my last ten years as a
Faceless One were a dream, right here, right now, I was in my old home.
So I opened my laptop and sat in front of it.
I checked for the new messages ... nothing, but that's normal.
I launched the MMO I used to play solo. Two hours passed.
The rumbling in my stomach finally became stronger than my need to play.
When I passed the bathroom to get to the kitchen, I felt something weird. As if something was really wrong. But as I couldn't find the source of that feeling, I went to make something to eat.
There was enough food to last me for the next six days. I thought that was great, cause I wouldn't have to go to the shop.
After eating, it was time to wash.
I went to the bathroom, but as I approached its door, the feeling from before came back.
When I brought my hand closer to the doorknob, the feeling got stronger and now turned into fear. Every cell of my body screamed to run away, or else I would die.
After moving away from the door everything came back to normal.
I went to the kitchen, took a big plastic bowl, filled it with water, and using dish sponge, I washed.
I tried to stay away from the bathroom as far as possible for the rest of the day.
It's wrong
The next day after eating and washing in the kitchen I decided to play the MMO again.
When I logged in, some of my guildmates were already online.
I greeted them.
No response.
Rude, but I kept playing. At least to the moment when I got stuck in a new area and didn't know what to do. So I asked them for advice.
No response.
"Hey! What's your problem!?" I typed.
No response.
I thought there may be some problems with the servers and my messages didn't go through to them. As I couldn't bypass the obstacle, I logged off and checked the forum I used to dwell on.
Some new guy had a problem with the game he played and asked for help.
I knew the game, so I wrote a private message to him.
No response, even though he was online and a few minutes later he asked again for the help.
What was the problem? My internet? The laptop?
Whatever it was, I didn't want to deal with it at that point.
So I decided to take a walk. I put on some warmer pants and the jacket and as I went through the doorway...
I was back in my bedroom.
Confused, I tried to leave my apartment again. This time I ended up in the kitchen.
Then the toilet.
Then the living room.
Then my bedroom again.
For some reason, I couldn't leave.
After inspection, I discovered that every time I tried to leave, I was transported to the random room (besides the bathroom) in the state from the day I woke up here for the first time.
The food that I ate the first and the second day was again on the shelf, however, the laptop and my phone showed me that the time was going forward.
After other experiments, I discovered that this effect extended to the balcony doors and the windows.
Any way that I could use to leave the house, led me to the inside of another one.
I tried to scream at the people passing by the house for help. No one even reacted.
I tried to call the police or someone...
No response.
I was stuck. That realization filled me with many questions and feelings. Why? How? Is it the work of one of the Lords? Did I die? Am I in the Hell or Limbo?
Then, one question filled my head.
What is in the bathroom?
The mistake
I took the kitchen knife and went to the bathroom door. The feeling of fear came back.
Somehow, I forced myself to touch the doorknob. But then...Then it was worse.
As I tried to push the doorknob down, cold sweat started covering my whole body.
Seconds passed, then minutes and probably hours. I felt like I spent there months, trying to open that
███████ door.
After eternity has passed, they moved, and when they opened.
My breath was heavy and my heart was beating like crazy.
Drip.
Drop.
Drip.
Drop.
I looked at the mirror.
The white substance was dripping from its bottom and splashing on the sink.
I couldn't move to see it. I was too tired after opening the door and the feeling of the fear still hasn't passed.
Then it sped up.
Drip drop.
Drip drop.
Drip drop.
The substance was leaking faster and faster. At some point, it completely filled the sink and now was pouring on the bathroom floor.
And then it started moving. Morphing. Shaping into a being.
In front of me stood completely white being. It looked similar to the human wrapped in a straitjacket and chains. It didn't have a face, but it was looking at me.
I could feel it looking at me.
It moved towards me.
And I knew that if it touched me, I would die.
I run away.
I was running through so many versions of my house, I wouldn't find the original one again.
I was running through doors and windows, whatever was closest at the time.
I was running so long I collapsed.
