Lord of Spectacle Character in When the Curtain has fallen | World Anvil

Lord of Spectacle

The man was running through the maze, other person running behind him. They both reached a corridor with three pairs of doors on either side.
Without even looking, the first man ran through the left door. The only thing the second person heard, was his short screams and the sound of saws.
The voice spoke:
"Two more choices, and only fifteen seconds to choose. So pick wisely! Tick! Tock! Tick! Tock!
They chose the center door and the same second realized they chose poorly as flamethrowers started to burn their body.
"And another game ends without the winner! Are you even trying? Dear audience, I am really sorry, but we have to end today's show early. See you next time...
Even amongst other Lords, the Lord of Spectacle was a very chaotic and dangerous individual. And whether due to his volatile nature or his love of deadly entertainment, he didn't disappear after the Extinction. Instead, he hunts both for remaining humans and spirits making them participate in his games.

The Lord without Dominium

After the Extinction has ended Lord of Spectacle was the only one of his species that didn't settle down and created his Dominium. Instead, wherever he shows up, the surrounding area turns into his stage, a circus of death, a game show of his design. This means that he can set his rules anywhere he wants and terraform his surroundings, but also that those changes will disappear with him.
The only exception of this ability is that Lord of Spectacle cannot in any way change the Dominium belonging to another Lord. This can be exploited if one is close to that Dominium. One can run away from the death game there. However, there is a chance that said Dominium will be way worse than the show.

Game Shows

When the area for the game is ready and the "willing participants" are enclosed inside of it, the Lord of Spectacle can start his game. There needs to be more than one participant.
For the game to be valid, he needs to come up with and announce the rules. There always needs to be a way to win said game.
It needs to be known that there is no way to escape the game without winning it.   The games can come in any kind. It could be a quiz, the game of hide-and-seek, a game of "Family Feud", or something similar to the "Wipeout" or "Takeshi Castle" (but deadlier).

History

"No. No! NO! How the █████ he manages to break MY games?! WHAT THE ████ IS THIS ████?! WHAT THE ████ IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE?!"
Lord managed to calm himself a little.
"There are some rules. I set them, they have to listen. Is that so hard to understand? So...HOW DOES HE DO THAT?!"
Kundel managed to escape three death games organized by Lord of Spectacle without following the rules, in a way that shouldn't be possible to break those games. If Lord had some blood still it would be boiling whenever he just heard Kundel's name.

Sometimes he shows up with an old TV on his head, showing tv testing card with various amount of yellow eyes opening and closing on the screen.

Example of game rules:
The Race

  1. The game will be a race.
  2. There are 20 participants.
  3. You have 10 minutes to reach the finish line, otherwise, you will die.
  4. The route is marked by 10 glowing markers.
  5. The last person that goes through the marker dies. So only 10 of you can win.
  6. Be careful of the traps on the racetrack. If more than 10 of you will die to them, there will be no winners.
So let's start the race!
