Festive Spirits

Ever since humanity climbed down from the trees, they celebrated things. As such, Spirits of festivities accompanied them since the beginning. Those Spirits vary between cultures, countries, and even a person's perceptions of them. They are pretty unique among others of their kind, as they only show up during or around the time related to the holiday that created them. Due to the strength of concepts, they are related to, Festive Spirits are god-tier Spirits, being able to influence the reality with their mere presence. They are even able to affect Lords a feat impossible for lesser conceptual beings.

Notable Spirits

Father Christmas

Holiday: Christmas
Main emotion: Wonder, cheer

Influence on the world

Around the 6th of December, Christmas lights start to show up everywhere. Shop displays also change, and one can find Christmas themed clothes again. In places such as malls, Christmas songs start to play. Colors become more saturated and the cold is less noticeable. Those effects gain on strength and intensity up to 24th of December where they peak for another 2 days. After 26th they slowly fade away, disappearing completely on the 6th of January.

Manifestation

When Father Christmas manifests, it takes on the form of a giant man in a red robe trimmed with white fluff. Depending on who he meets and how he judges them, his head changes. If he deems someone a good person, his head will be that of a jolly old man with a lush white beard and red cheeks and nose. If the person is neither good nor bad, instead of a human head there will be a decorated Christmas tree or a snowman head. And if he judges someone as a bad person, his head takes on a form of a black goat with white eyes and four long, twisted horns.

Influence related to people and traditions

Everyone in the presence of Father Christmas, be it human, Spirit or even one of the Lords, cannot perform any kind of aggressive action towards any other being influenced by the Spirit. Judgment: Depending on his judgment, Father Christmas acts differently towards people. When he encounters "nice" or neutral people he pulls gifts equal to their number from his robe. Inside, there is an item, sometimes food, they might need in the future. It's never something that will solve their problems, just something that will help them in a situation or two.
However, if he encounters someone "naughty", he pulls out a whip made out of twigs. He will then chase the "naughty" person to whip their back.

Old man and a child

Holiday: New Year
Main emotion: Joy, wonder

Influence on the world

During the last few days of the year, fireworks can be seen and heard in the distance. On the 31st of December, as midnight draws close, radios start to play cheerful music. There is a countdown everyone can hear going from 20 to 1. As soon as it finishes and the new day comes, fireworks cover the sky. They last for an hour.

Manifestation

The Spirit takes on the form of an old man wearing a flashy purple suit, giant sunglasses and a golden crown made out of paper on his head. He holds a child dressed in white in his arms. The old man loves to party and invites anyone he encounters to celebrate, pulling champagne bottles and wine glasses out of nowhere. When the clock strikes the twelve, he drinks his last glass of champagne, takes off the crown and places it on the child's head. He then disappears. An hour later the child also disappears.

Influence related to people and traditions

When the Spirit encounters someone, he asks them what their next year's resolution is. He won't leave them until they answer. Once the answer is given, he will comment on what he thinks about the resolution and wish them luck. For the next year, any action taken towards achieving the resolution will seem easier and everything will fall into place to achieve it.

The Lamb

Holiday: Easter
Main emotion: Depending on the day, sadness and happiness

Influence on the world

Over the week the Easter takes place on, the Spirit affects the world in a different way depending on the day. As the night comes during the Holy Thursday all the church bells start to ring. The longer it goes, the damper their sound gets until they can't be heard anymore. Since now, all of the sounds are dampened.
On the Good Friday, all of the colors become desaturated too.
On the Holy Saturday, both the desaturation and dampening lose on their intensity and everything returns to normal for a moment when the day ends.
On the Holy Sunday, all of the colors seem more saturated, and all of the plants grow fast enough for the effect to be visible over the passing hours.

Manifestation

Just as the effects it causes, the Spirit's form changes over the four days of Easter.
On Holy Thursday, it looks like a fully grown ram.
On Good Friday, wounds show up all over its body and get worse with the passing day.
It doesn't show up on Holy Saturday.
On Holy Sunday, it takes a form of a ram lamb bearing a red banner. Its wool seems to glow with golden light.

Influence related to people and traditions

If the Spirit meets anyone during the Holy Thursday, it will give them food that will last only until the end of the day. Said food (usually fish and bread) fills the stomach and warms the body.
On Good Friday, anyone who decides to feast or suffers because of starvation, won't feel their hunger.
Taking any kind of food to the church on the Holy Saturday will bless it. If that food is not eaten until the morning hours of Holy Sunday, if it lost its freshness, even a long time ago, it will regain it, it will taste better than ever before, and a few bites of it can fill the stomach for a day. Because of that, going to the church on the Holy Saturday is a risk worth the possible hazards (such as hostile Spirits waiting in ambush for anyone trying to get there).

Carnival masks

Holiday: Carnival
Main emotion: Excitement

Influence on the world

Colorful tapes show up hanging above the streets and confetti rains from above. The music seems nicer to the ear and songs that people want to dance to play from the radios. Alcohol gets stronger and food tastes better.

Manifestation

Spirit takes on the form of a crowd wearing Venetian masks that change their shapes and colors. Their clothes always suit the style of the mask they are wearing. They are dancing, playing, singing and laughing everywhere they go.

Influence related to people and traditions

Anyone wearing the mask during the time the Carnival Masks are present can either completely hide their presence or start to look like the thing their mask resembles to other people. Both effects only affect the sight of those who can (or could) see the mask-wearer.

Ash Giant

Holiday: Ash Wednesday
Main emotion: Repentance, calmness

Influence on the world

Throughout the whole day, ash seems to rain from the sky. It doesn't stain the clothes and the effect doesn't affect the breathing. It just looks as if the ash is falling.

Manifestation

When manifesting, this Festive Spirit takes on the form of a giant human-shaped being with completely gray skin. It is thin and its limbs are too long for its torso. More ash falls off of its body. Its head is featureless, but its shape resembles a human head wearing a bishop hat. When the giant moves it makes a sound similar to that of breathing mixed with muttering.

Influence related to people and traditions

Although its presence might seem terrifying, the giant is completely non-hostile. In case something attacks it, it will run away.
However, if someone decides to approach the Ash Giant peacefully, it will stretch its arm above them and sprinkle their head with ash. For the next month, as long as the person doesn't overindulge with any substances, they seem to be protected from any Spirits that would affect their minds or tempt them.

Jester

Holiday: April Fools
Main emotion: Mischief, anticipation

Influence on the world

On the 1st of April, Jester leaves its traps everywhere. The traps are mostly masked (a watchful eye can spot them before activating them) and vary from being funny or annoying to being outright deadly. Just by being present in the area, Jester can influence the directions and the placement of the buildings and the terrain. Even the Stabilizers aren't safe from that effect, but as soon as the day passes, the world goes back to the norm for them.

Manifestation

Jester's form constantly changes. It can be an animal, person with "cartoonified" proportions, a normal human, a toy, shape, or a common item. Whatever it looks like, there's a wide grin somewhere on it.

Influencerelated to people and traditions

Aside from all of the pranks it pulls, the Jester doesn't have any additional effects that influence people.

Voice of the Dead

Holiday: All Souls' Day
Main emotion: Longing, grief

Influence on the world

The smell of thousands of burning candles can be smelled in the air. On cemeteries, all of the graves become clean. Candles and flowers show up on them.

Manifestation

Voice of the Dead shows up only on the cemeteries. It looks like a hooded person with a gramophone speaker instead of a face. It has candles burning on its shoulders with wax dripping down everywhere they go.

Influence related to people and traditions

The Voice of the Dead walks from one gravestone to another. When it approaches one, it falls on its knees and freezes. Voices start coming out of its speaker. They are the voices of those who were buried in the grave in front of it. They will say the last thing the person said or always wanted to say before their death. If anyone living asks a question during the time the dead person speaks, they will answer the question with all the knowledge they had during their life.

Fireflies

Holiday: Kupala Night
Main emotion: Joy

Influence on the world

Big pyres show up everywhere, but don't start burning until the sunset. Once it gets dark, hundreds of flower crowns flow down the rivers and lakes. Floating lanterns cover the sky.

Manifestation

Fireflies, as their name suggests, manifest as large swarms of fireflies. Additionally, their presence is always accompanied by the sounds of crickets or cicadas.

Influence related to people and traditions

During the day of the 6th of July, it is prohibited to bathe in rivers and lakes. During this period, anything that enters the water belongs to the water Spirits living in there. On the other hand, bathing after the dusk heals most of the wounds both on the body and the soul.
Anyone who manages to catch one of the flower crowns flowing down the water without falling into it will have a brief vision of their future.
Jumping over pyres brings good luck. According to rumors, anyone who manages to do that without burning their clothes will once avoid even certain death. Additionally, if they sprint and jump over multiple pyres without stopping, the effect multiplies. However, if any of those pyres burn them, they'll lose all of the luck they gathered.
Origin/Ancestry
Humans, various emotions
Taboo:
Festive spirits can't affect anyone who doesn't know the holidays they represent. The person will still see the change in the world but any negative or positive effects won't influence them.   Extinction:
Just as every Spirit that was born of human-related things, without them, they will either slowly die off or will have to change into something else.   Growth and diet:
Festive Spirits are so big (conceptually) that they don't grow anymore.
They feed on the feelings they are related to. Thanks to their size they eat only once a year, during the festivities they manifest on.   Reproduction:
As it is with all of the Spirits, Festive Spirits can't reproduce.
