What They Left Behind

A boy awakens aboard a floating piece of debris, with little knowledge of how he got there, or what even happened. His name is Zedra, and all he remembers of his past life are these words;   Come find me   Whoever said them is gone; Wherever they said it is gone; who they said it too... well, he's working on it.   When Zedra is rescued by a particularly friendly group of pirates, he is thrust back into the world he left behind. The true reality of life picks its baton and hits him repeatedly around the head until he learns to grow up and truly understand the world.   And it all begins with the Sarcophagus.   What They Left Behind is a tale set in a vast universe, with realism at its forefront - it's science fiction, so of course, some concessions must be made, such as for FTL travel and other little bits of Fictional technology. Nonetheless, I want to keep this universe grounded in reality; this is my main goal for the universe.   The story itself is based on one time period of the Universe, but I plan to make this universe versatile enough that I can tell stories from all manner of time and still have them fit in the over-arching world.   This will be a great undertaking, one that has been in the making for years.
