DAYAT: The 'Do As You Are Told' Rule.

The Rule/Convention simply states that:
Unless a player states otherwise their character will do as they are told, and follow any reasonable instructions given to them by another character of superior standing.
This rule seeks to reproduce the real-world tendency for people to follow the pack and obey instructions unless they have a serious objection to what is being proposed. It means for example that if a senior character says 'Follow Me' and walks off then the rest of the party will automatically follow unless a player intervenes and says"No!' my character is staying put." Thus it avoids the need for every player to keep repeating 'Freddie follows Alice' every few minutes.   This rule was introduced during my first campaign to speed up gameplay and reduce the time wasted waiting for everyone to confirm their compliance with instructions. It also has the added advantage of aiding in maintaining party cohesion, as the assumption is that the party will remain together unless a player specifically states that they wish to split from it.
