Duke or Duchess

Owners of a sizable quantity of property in The Federation of Merchants are known as Dukes or Duchesses without a landing specification. The title is more ceremonial than powerful, as the Federation is run by money rather than family bloodlines. The title of Duke or Duchess in Chereladi, Galavnaya, Pikae and Zlora is usually awarded to the family which rules a major county of political importance and has the financial ability to raise and support a standing army. Duchies are expected to send troops to support the Royal army in times of war.
