United Churches of Light

"At the end of all things, The Infinite Darkness shall take the White Queen. Thus filling his rage and conquest unless something is done to vanquish it."
-Fracian doomsday belief or interpretation of the end of the universe depending on the interpretation.

Structure

Each god is prayed in their own temple, cult or other area of worship. Each of them answers to a higher administration that goes up to a national administration that includes an archbishop who administers the religious aspect and a head of social functions. There is an international association for each church and a United Nations equivalent for the whole religion.

Public Agenda

Because of it long it's long history there will be different agendas, politics and alliances throughout it's existence. Rule of thumb is that their public agenda relates to their church and personal agendas do not reflect the church as a whole. Looking through the Glacian archives there has been cases of exploiting for personal agendas and ulterior motives in all churches.

Assets

Every Sect will have assets related towards their philosophy and church.  Red has Banks, Orange has construction firms and art museums. Yellow has a central military base, various martial arts training schools and various military equipment. Green has courts on every level, law school and cop training. Blue has nature reserves and facilities pertaining to deal with nature preservation and dealing with environmental threats Indigo has universities and science oriented programs, Violet has libraries and archives, White has the equivalent of the United Nations, equivalent facilities and lawyers. Black has detectives, spies and related agencies.

History

Like the mythology of Greece, the Light Churches originated as cults, temples and local gods shared by a local culture. Each of these cultures grew big enough to have international wars. This lead to a tipping point where the White Faction chose to act as mediator, understand each one and created peace between each one.
This led to a basis for their version of a Geneva Convention and led to their White Church to be the peace keepers of the realm. There were still wars and political conflicts, but now there was something to keep in check. The church played a role, both politically and socially, throughout the race's history. What happened after the founding of the Glacia colony is unknown.

Disbandment

Because the civilization that produced Glacia existed 5 million years ago it is believed that the religion is long dead and is survived by Glacia.

Mythology & Lore

In the beginning there was just the Cosmos and the Cosmos had no light or color.The Cosmos gave birth to the White Queen. The White Queen created Fracia and the first 7 gods, each taking on a pair of clothes. Each pair of clothes had a color. This is Fracia's creation myth and the origin of colors. The Infinite Darkness is mentioned or included in the myths.
Canonically, The myths after this detail how each color discovered their skills and attributes. There are two major tellings, one where the White Queen gave them their attributes after their creation and the other is a group of myths that detail their discovery.
The next group of myths details the rise of the other gods, the formation of the courts and the stories of the early heros. This is the end of the creation myths.
The next set follows the history of the world and the adventures the religions heros.
There is a chapter that details the Day of Unity and it's time period and another that details the apocalypse caused by The Infinite Darkness. The former event is interpreted that an agent of the White Queen brought the churches together. The later is believed to have been prevented when the White Queen and The Infinite Darkness reconciled. Both of these explain a culture shift on Fracia.

Divine Origins

Due to being in a superhero universe it is possible for these gods to actually exist and their myths to actually be true. As with other things from Fracia, 5 million years will cause many records will be lost or skewed including whether or not they existed.
Civilization wise, the origins of this religion stems from an empire that shared a common set of gods and culture. It's precise origins of the culture is lost to time. The civilization fell, creating several nations with a church each.
Its modern form came from the period surrounding the founding of the Day of Unity. This time period placed an emphasis where The White Queen became the head god and the dogma focused on peace. This shift was mostly a geopolitical shift to prevent further conflicts. Many gods of specific task get reinterpreted as the god of a specific facet. For example: a red death god is either folded into another god, forgotten or the death god who focuses on dying businesses.

Cosmological Views

Similar to the concept of Yin and Yang, Fracian believe that all colors co-exist together. The concepts they are connected to may seem opposing but they are complementary and interdependent of each other. This goes from the familiar to the social to all the way up to the cosmic. The concept of duality aren't foreign to this cosmology but it's strictest form is very rare in the Churches of Light. What should be a duality gets interpreted as a facet of those concepts. For example The duality of life and death gets interpreted natural life and death and the life and death of a business.
The color of white is used seen as a uniting color the holds reality together. All other colors stem from the color white and all significant natural forces have an accent of white in their artistic design to show their superiority and power.
Black is seen as the lack of any of the colors and associated colors. They color has several meanings in the cosmology, both apart of the other colors and as a separate thing apart of the colors. It used to mean antagonism and evil towards society and the cosmos. Later on Black has became an accepted color and became the color that signifies the ultimate death and decay of the universe, natural change and revealing of uncomfortable truths and flaws.

Tenets of Faith

Red: "Acquire the best wealth and reputation and use that for the greatest good." Orange: "Defend almost all forms of expression and art in all it's forms" Yellow: "For war and violence" under it's more evil believers; "Defend the defenseless and yourself" and "improvement through martial arts" for good members. Green: "To preserve the law and community." Blue: "To preserve and coexist with nature" and "Preserve the biodiversity of your home." Indigo: "Think through every situation and find the best outcome." Violet: "Pursue your ambition and dreams", "Preserve history and culture" and "History is the best informer for decision making." White: "Unite the churches." and "Bring and keep the peace wherever you go." Black: "Question everything", "Bring out the ugliness of society and people" and "Help in people's improvement."

Ethics

Because of how their society works, everybody is going to have a philosophy or ethics that connects to their Sect. This doesn't mean they're opposed to each other. The share a philosophy that feels similar to Earth's concept of Yin and Yang. They believe that knowledge and growth can be stem from interacting with other, some times alternate of opposing points of view. They will considered as many facts as possible before making a decision. Fracians believe that everybody and everything has a place in the world and seldom have a philosophy that's considered invalid or total bunk; It would have to be pretty bad to be thrown out. Balance and coexistence is key to their ethics. The average Fracian will lean towards peace, harmony, moderation, discovery and pro-science.
On a side note it is normal for a Fracian to have multiple and complimentary ethical codes.

Worship

Normally worship and prayed to in churches and temples ( this can include makeshift worship places). There are statues, emblems and other such things to represent the god an establishment's patron god. The clothing one wears also dictates which church one follows.
On a social note, By king Rano's time Fracia had became semi secular with the religion staying mostly akin to late 20th and early 21st century Earth. By this era, the average Fracian has a philosophy that stemmed from one of the Churches.

Priesthood

Each Church has the hierarchy of priest hood similar to earth's all the way up an archbishop who oversees a nation religious institution. Above this is an international council associated to the Fracian equivalent of the United Nations. There used to be a Pope for each Church but that was phased out. Other than this, each church has member who operate administrate their social function. What follows is the unique classes in and associate to the church.
Red: Administrators for businessmen, bankers and merchants. Orange: Administrators for construction workers, artists and artisans. Yellow: contains the military ranks of Fracia. Each church is overseen by a General. Blue: Contains scientists who focus on nature and its preservation. The head is normally a minister of science. Indigo: normally centered around research positions and their administration. It is usually ran national by a minister of education and one of science. Violet: Administrators for libraries and archives. The head is usual ran by the head administrator of a nation's archive. White: Diplomats and Peace corp. Answers to an archbishop who is in the U.N. equivalent. Black and Green: The running interior includes the administrators for various law enforcement, detective agencies and social workers. The heads are normally a Minister of National Security and the local Department of Defense.

Granted Divine Powers

Red: bonuses and powers goes towards charisma and merchantry skills. Orange: bonuses and powers goes craftmaship type skills like the forge and writing. Yellow: bonuses and powers goes fighting skills. Green: bonuses and powers goes towards dealing judgement skills and defense. Blue: bonuses and powers are related towards nature and nature knowledge. Indigo: bonuses and powers boosts logic, intelligence and reasoning skills and powers. Violet: bonuses and powers goes towards research skills and memory. White: bonuses and powers goes goes towards diplomacy and charisma. Black: bonuses and powers goes towards intelligence and deduction.

Political Influence & Intrigue

Each Church operates a specific social function and has influence over that aspect. This has led to a history led of tied social and philosophical/religious conflict, political backstabbing and moral dilemmas. This includes internal and international struggles within a sect.

Sects

As a global religion practiced by many countries, there are sects found in many countries on Fracia with their own quirks, variations, rites, agendas and motives. Each sect is tied to a church, higher administration and philosophy. The different churches go as follows:
Red: Focuses on merchantry, capitalism and business. Orange: Focuses on construction and artisanry. Yellow: Focuses on military, martial arts and combat. Green: Focuses on law, order and community. Blue: Focuses on nature and it's preservation. Indigo: Focuses on logic, reason and stoicism. Violet: Focuses on ambition in both self and socially and self/social preservation. White: Administration house, focuses on unity and peace. Black: Focuses on the lack of the attributes, truth seeking, showing flaws both socially and personally and the improvement of society and the self.

Historical Note:
The Time around the Day of Unity was a troubling time with lots of wars.This lead to a tipping point where the White Faction chose to act as mediator, understand each one and created peace between each one. This led to a basis for their version of a Geneva Convention and led to their White Church to be the peace keepers of the realm. There were still wars and political conflicts, but now there was something to keep in check. Common knowledge is that a single leader from the White Church united them single handily and by legend she was blessed by the White Queen. This is only partially true. The truth historically is that this person acted as mediator to many conventions and peace talks. There are records from members from every church speaking of frustration over the constant conflict and many reasons to initiate an era of peace.
