The Sign of Freedom

Effect

Believed to be either freedom incarnate or loosely applying the concept. The Sign grants flight, the ability to escape from any prison, limited astral projection and possibly any power that can stem from "Freedom from X".

Side/Secondary Effects

Even though it can be handled by anybody, tyrants, despots or kidnappers should not wear this. It has been noted by Jimmie Clarkson when he had his Sign stolen from a despot, that despot suffered migraines until he [redacted]. Jimmie retrieved the Sign after. It is speculated that an oppressive nature or position will cause this sign to react negatively to it's bearer.

It manifests as a sigil of unknown design.

Discovery

Every planet has their own discovery of The Signs. On Earth Freedom's discovery was unknown but is expected to be what was Germany during the time of the Stone Age. It is known that there was a knight who made use of it.

Applied Restriction

Is restricted by the body and mind of the bearer. The notable restriction is that direct oppression or restraint is impossible for the power and a user must use other restraints or wits to try oppression or a trap.
What isn't a restriction is the "Freedom vs. safety/security" debate. There has been cases where a sign user has operated in a mostly secure society both defending and opposing said system. This includes a user who had an end goal to create a more secure society for his homeworld.
