Trollskull Manor

Purpose / Function

To House The Aristocrats and their adventurers guild.

Alterations

Remodeled and updated. The Library has been partially converted into a Magic Workshop.

Architecture

Very much a classic manor home. stone exterior, with a large tower in the front, and balconies wrapping the second and third floors. warm, comfortable interior living space, and a spacious open bar/restaurant area on the first floor.

History

The Building once stood as an orphanage, taking in and feeding the hungry orphans and urchins of the North Ward. The Matron, Granny Winthrop, along with her two daughters Mary and Joanna, took care of up to 20 children at a time until all three mysteriously vanished.   Since then, the property has changed hands many times, never keeping an owner for long. A series of odd deaths and dissapearences sparked rumors that the old manor house was haunted. The last owner, Lif, converted the first floor into a tavern. On the morning of what was to be the grand opening, he was found hanging from the rafters above the fireplace. It has sat vacant for over a decade since, that is until it fell into the hands of the Aristocrats.

Tourism

Many Adventurers come through looking for work, many locals come through hoping to see a ghost.

Nice premise. I'd love to learn more about the staff/Aristocrats. ------------------------------------------------------------   Feel free to check out my Tavern Challenge article if you want to see what I am up to! The Black Hare Tavern

A very interesting premise. Definitely seems haunted. I hope you expand on it some. Are there stables attached to it? What about a blacksmith or leather repair for the adventurers guild? Are there any secret passages or ways for the guild to observe patrons or potential recruits unseen? just some thought that I had.

Feel free to stop by some of my WorldEmber articles if you want. My favorites are The Book of the Unquiet Dead, Outpost of the Moons, and The Emerald Hills. Feedback is always appreciated.

Hey this is cool, but I find it really similar in premise and setting and even names to the adventure published by Wizards of the Coast - Waterdeep: Dragon Heist? With the modern setup I take it you have redirected the Manor to a more modern setting?

I like it as the beginning of a story or a backstory popping out in fragments now and then between the guests.   Are the deaths somehow connected to the fact that the place is in a hot spot and everyone wants to get their hands on it? Maybe it's not crucial to the story, but what happened to the children when Granny, Mary and Joanna vanished?   I enjoyed the black humour pun with Lif not having too much life ahead of him once he made some changes.   Thank you for a pleasant read. :)
