Seen by the sand walker's to be foolhardy, stupid, and greedy. The Scrap Men are the Awoken who strive to understand the ancient material sciences of the the forgotten era. Gathering and reforging ancient metal into ingots sold to blacksmiths at half the cost that miners can muster. The material often being of superior quality as well, ending up in the best tools, armor, and weapons silver can buy.

Perception

Purpose

They gather metal and other useful pieces of ancient and unused equipment for recycling and resale. Along with taking on a secondary objective of trying to learn of, and understand new materials. In rare cases, they are called in by mining foremen to look at strange samples found in the ground.

Social Status

The profession is almost non-exsistant inside Fields Union borders due to their lack of the ancient structures and sights related to work these Awoken undertake. However it is common place in the Classless BadlandsCopper Mountains and within We of the Sand territory. Due to the collectivist nature of The We economy, the sand walker's shun practitioners of the profession due to the wealth many gain from it. However the government in that area has made it mandatory that someone do the work, sadly making some sand walkers forced into the job. Those who come to enjoy the work are ostracized all the more.
