Readers Response to the Tail Argument

This is Stupid.

"We share a very similar body plan, with four limbs (two arms, two legs), and all having fully functional hands and opposable thumbs. (Outside of a few very rare mutations, a tail is not a limb)" ~ An article in the educational magazine 'Science on Minerva'

When this comment was published in Fields Union , few seemed to actually consider it. At least it seemed that way until the next issue when the entire 'Letters to the Editors' section was completely filled with angry letters. Some of the messages even being responses to neighbors or arguing with each other. All of them were unable to come to a conclusive decision whether or not a tail was a limb or not.
That was till finally, someone made a very good point.

"This argument is stupid. I'm an averine and my tail is completely prehencile. Can we please see other articles."~ Anonimous reader

This message, scene after three issues of the magazine all talking about the same thing. Finally sparked a flood of letters to the office demanding the issue be settled.

After the publication of the article containing the anonymous message, many scientists and other educated folks consider tails limbs. While not every academic has read the issue containing this message, the argument is seen as foolish by many.
