The Humble Coil Gun

Pretty much every group has access to basic black powder weapons, but the more advanced of us such as the Copper Mount Militia have access to the next stage of ranged weapons. It might not be as effective as Chemical Propellant Weapons such as firearms, but the ammunition is far easier to manufacture. Combined with a powerful practitioner of electrokinesis, these weapons become an absolute powerhouse. The weapons that can fall under this category are coil/rail guns, along with mass drivers and cannons. Sometimes these are refereed to as gauss weapons.

History

The original weapons that use electromagnetism as a form of propulsion are forgotten era artifacts. The earliest examples known to the awoken were recovered by the Copper Mount Militia when they came to populate Reserve Arsenal Delta. Despite the Militia's best attempts to keep the technology limited to trusted individuals, some of the smarter awoken have pieced together the basic operation of these weapons.

Access & Availability

Electromagnetic weapons are an uncommon sight, only appearing in the hands of individuals smart enough to piece together their operation, or Copper Mount Militia personnel.

Complexity

Despite common misconceptions, these weapons very simple in construction and operation. Thanks primarily to their lack of moving components.

Originally developed in the forgotten era, rediscovered thanks to artifacts from Reserve Arsenal Delta.
