Biological distortion happens when you try to manipulate your own biology with green ontologite. This effect is exceptionally dangerous as, if done by mistake, it can cause serious health issues either right after the alteration occurred or at some point in the future. Not only that, but doing this can also make you more vulnerable to the various effects of ontologite in the future.

Symptoms

Someone affected with Biological Distortion will feel a variety of symptoms that can vary from person to person due to the side effects that such modification can have. Mainly based on what has been exactly modified. A small list of side effects for your convenience, and to hopefully discourage someone from seeking this out.

Treatment

Originally this was something that you would have to deal with for the rest of your life. However, there is actually a way to lessen the effects of this condition. Specifically through a new method of treatment using green ontologite. From my understanding, it was developed by some Way of the Wood monks who saw a rise in distortion cases. They counter it by having a person effectively swallow specially treated pieces of ontologite to restore normal biological functions.

History

The original cases of this were a result of personal body modifications at the hands of Perfect Ones, who have no moral quandaries about permanently twisting a person. The first attempts at doing this resulted in the death of the awoken attempting to achieve a modification. Why people still think its a good idea is a mystery to me.
