Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Aiden is physically fit and healthy. He has an obvious V-shaped body, not quite fully filled out. He's slim and lean, with tight and toned muscles.
Facial Features
Heart-shaped face with a scar on his eyebrow where no hair grows. This is from a blow his father gave him when he tried to protect his mother at the age of eight.
Identifying Characteristics
He has lots of tattoos: two full sleeves and much of his back and torso too. He has a scorpion on his right forearm, roses surround it travelling up to a grim reaper on his bicep. His left arm has a tribal pattern, a portrait of Luffy and a scroll with his mum's name, because it was his mum's love of anime and his admiration of Luffy from One Piece that set him on the path to the seas. On his chest has a large portrait of the Indian God of protection, Shiva.
Special abilities
During the course of the book, Aiden discovers that he has the power to dispel demons. If they try to touch him, his aura is so strong that it acts like a repulsive shield that burns the demon, returning it to it's dimension through the veil.
Apparel & Accessories
Around his neck he wears dog tags with his naval identification, and a St Christopher Pendant Aiden's Protective amulet that gives him luck and protection on his travels.

Personal history
Aiden grew up with a father who used to beat his mother. After stepping between them when he was eight years old and ending up in the hospital with a concussion and cut on his brow that needed stitches, he learned that he was powerless to do anything to prevent what he knew was wrong. His father told him not to interfere, that it was his injury was his own fault. His and his mother's relationship was their business, not a child's.
As he grew up, he watched his father's drinking ebb and flow, and the violence too. Finally, on a particular visit to church with his mother, after a particularly bad beating, he prayed for the strength and courage to find a way to end the violence and protect his mother. He was answered immediately in the guise of a personal revelation that the only person who could change the situation was he himself. So Aiden began to train at a local boxing club while simultaneously discussing the wrongness of it all with his mother at every opportunity, giving her information and flyers and then burning them before his father could find them.
One day, when Aiden was 15, he took action as his father came home drunk. This time he realised his father was no monster, just a weak and pathetic old man. With one punch the man was cowering and Aiden banished him. His mother, having come to the realisation that she did in fact deserve better, voiced her agreement and they never saw him again.
Shortly after that Aiden graduated school and went to work at a local shipyard cleaning hulls, while studying marine engineering at college, before enrolling in the navy as a cadet marine engineer.

Aiden achieved average GCSEs and went on to pass a Level 2 Diploma in Marine Engineering at College.
Employment
Aiden completed his initial naval training at Torpoint and was offered a place on the HMS Redemption at Devonport. They are currently part way through the Basic Operational Sea Training and preparing for the 'Thursday War'.
He's a dogsbody with minimal responsibility always directed by his sergeant. As a grease monkey, he is always using wrenches and spanners to fix pipes and hydraulics. He mostly works on mechanical systems at the moment, but hopes to rotate and learn other systems over the course of his career.

Motivation
Aiden is strongly motivated to protect and serve the country from any outside threat. He is also strongly motivated by family and loyalty, hence his regard for the Navy, which is one big family.
Likes & Dislikes
Aiden likes to feel useful and goes out of his way to fix things particularly for his mum for whom he still feels a strong responsibility to protect. He does little diy fixes whenever he goes round and helps her with simple car fixes too.
Aiden hates bullies and cowards and often gets angry if it's directed toward him.
Hygiene
Aiden is meticulous with his hygiene (you have to be when living in close quarters with a hundred other men) and washes with citrus scented body wash because it wakes him up in the mornings.

Family Ties
Aiden only moved out of home about six months ago when he began his basic naval training but he has a strong familial loyalty to his mother.
Religious Views
Aiden was brought up going to church and although he classifies himself as Christian, he no longer goes to church of his own accord, feeling that the church represents an oppressive and morally limiting way of life.
He does believe in God, but realises that He is a mystery that people cannot truly define, and that life is for living, not to be spent in fear of angering an etheric being who does not concern himself to help them on a mundane level. 'Leave God to the Heavens, and people should focus on the Mundane where they reside.' Is a motto he lives by.

Aiden has a boyfriend of three years Boyfriend. They met at college where he was studying filmmaking and met over chips in the cafeteria and shared love of One Piece. (Tarpan admired his Luffy Tattoo)
