The Essential Plane

The essential plane is the lowest plane in the universe, resting at the base of The Arcanum Circular. It's main purpose is the purification of energy; it takes in magical residue and turns it back into the much more useful mana, through breaking it down to its bare essences and building it back up again.
Just as metaphysical beings cannot exist in the material plane as there isn't enough mana to sustain them, no matter at all can exist in the essential plane, as any mana that would be holding it together is ripped from it and sent into The Arcanum Circular. Thus, venturing into the essential plane is nothing less than suicide.
As there is nothing of substance there, the essential plane is effectively just an endless vacuum.
