Breach gauntlet
The breach gauntlet is an artifact created by Reggie Hayes and worn by Gwen Gardner.
The breach gauntlet resembles an iron gauntlet that covers the fingers, hand, forearm, and roughly half of the upper arm. There are two orb-shaped mana batteries inlaid into the forearm, and an output in the palm.
It allows Gwen to passively fill two mana batteries inlaid in the gauntlet with her hex magic, which she can discharge through the palm for a heavy attack against someone's core. Unless the victim has particularly potent defenses, this will usually wrench their core open enough to attack it directly.
Gwen can alternatively fill the guantlet with another aspect if she is preparing to face a particular opponent and wants to use their counter against them, but she needs to actively actively fill the batteries to do this; she has to drain over half her mana capacity to fill up a single battery, and that mana will take more than eight hours to recharge (pre-pact, at least. But she receives an upgraded model of the gauntlet shortly after her pact is made).
Mechanics & Inner Workings
The gauntlet consists of a metal casing which holds two custom mana batteries that touch the skin and poke out from the casing, allowing the user to see the charge and aspect of the batteries. These batteries are connected to each other and to an output in the gauntlet's palm with thaumic wiring. It is activated by a two-part trigger up on the top and bottom of the wearer's upper arm, which is meant to be grabbed with the opposite hand to avoid accidentally triggering and sending 2000mp of wild hex magic into the world.
Both batteries have a capacity of 1000mp and a startling discharge rate of 400xm, made from some of the best parts on the market. The output itself is incredibly robust as well, having an upper limit of 1000xm. This comes to together for a total discharge of 2000mp at 800xm over the course of 2.5 seconds.
Significance
It's very important to Gwen, both sentimentally, as she's grown rather attached wearing it for so many years, and practically, as it is her 'finishing move,' so to speak.

Unique, as it was made by Reggie, though the concept, if unconventional, is not unheard of.
