Daemon's Lack of Language Barriers Physical / Metaphysical Law in Warhammer Fantasy, Scale Universe | World Anvil

Daemon's Lack of Language Barriers

Warhammer Daemons are more likely to to destroy their enemies than try to corrupt them, but they can multitask.   Daemons are creatures supped on the negative thoughts and emotions of the Warhammer world (perhaps other dimensions too), and in order to be in sync with the minds of mortals, they need to be able to communicate them.   Daemons don't have a true language though the most powerful Daemons often have some form of telepathy.   Daemons can automatically understand all audible mortal speech. If a Daemon speaks to mortal, they will automatically speak the language of that mortal, perfectly with no trace of accent.   That said, some lesser daemons are not especially articulate and speak simply. Others are not fully sentient and only pick on very basic cues. They understand broad concepts but they cannot articulate spoken thoughts themselves.

Manifestation

Daemons do not speak the languages of mortals with a trace of accents but their voices are dripping with otherworldly power. It is difficult, if not impossible for a Daemon to mimic the sound of a normal person (or a normal Skaven or a normal Lizardman).   Khorne Daemons have their speech represented by red text   Nurgle Daemons have their speech represented by brown text   Tzeentch Daemons have their speech represented by dark violet text   Slaanesh Daemons have their speech represented by hot pink text
