The beast caste is a relatively small caste of Skinks that manages beasts dealing with domesticated animals, tamed animals, and wild animals.
The beast caste Skinks coordinate hunting and foraging efforts in the wild jungles (where they work closely with Sotek caste Skinks) and they manage the training of beasts of burden of war in the Temple Cities and Kahoun (where they work closely with worker caste Skinks).
In other words they search for Salamander, Razordon, and Carnosaur eggs and help raise and train them for battle. They capture young Stegadons and train them for labor and war.
Most, but not all Terradon and Ripperdactyl riders are of the beast caste.
They deal with less glorious aspects of the animal kingdom. They supervise pest control. They look after Huagerdons and cats. They help herd llamas and shear and/butcher them. They watchover the guinea pig pens. Beast caste skinks are expected to be flexible and they are trained in a lot of wilderness lore for a wide variety of animals, not just the beasts the First regularly employ.

Beast Caste Kroxigor

Beast caste Kroxigor are the rarest Kroxigor of all, but are highly valued. Beast caste Kroxigor are far more intelligent than typical Kroxigor and make excellent hunters and they have excellent instincts for taking down very large prey.
This helps in battle as these Kroxigor are employed to lead other Kroxigor in attacks against enemy monsters, or even war machines.
