Ataman

The continent of Ataman has a complex geo political setup. There are a number of kingdoms that call themselves baronies. Each one is called a baron. There are Five Baronies. Each one has a product they specialize in that is vital to survival. They trade amongst themselves mostly. There is Lumber, Agriculture, Slaves, Textiles and Mining. They are run By Baron Raptor, Baroness Hummingbird, Baron Serpent, Baron Spider and Baron Umber Hulk . No one knows what is in the center of the island as it is surrounded by monster mountains that are so high as to be unclimbable or at least so it is said. People who try to climb them are said to disappear never to be seen again although broken bodies have been found at the foot of the mountains. It is generally assumed to climb them is a death sentence. It is said that occasionally some of Barons might give those slated to be executed the option to take The Climb instead. Collectively the Barons refer to their slaves as cogs, their warriors as slicers and and prostitutes are known as toys. There are some free towns on the continent that are not under the thumb of a Baron but either they have very formidable defenses, or a tribute agreement to one of the Barons.
