The Final Frontier

The Underdark. Far below the surface of Wandrei, all manner of strange beings live in the dark and the bioluminescence of the underground. From the caverns of the dwarves, to the deep stalactite cities of the Drow, and eveerywhere in between, the Underdark is as large as Hyperborea and miles below the ground.

Geography

The geography of the Underdark is as varied as it is on the surface. From magma-filled lakes and flows, to great underground mushroom forests, the locales of the Underdark are wildly varied.

Fauna & Flora

There are just as many plants and animals underground as there are on the surface. Underground, cave, and burrowing animals are common, such as bats, badgers, rodents, and insects, as well as myconids and other fungi. There are also monstrosities to be found below the ground, such as Purple Worms, Umber Hulks, Rust Monsters, naga, fomorians, illithids, gricks, grells, and, some say, an underground forest full of giant lizard-like animals no one has seen for millennia.
