The Metal-Eater
An uncommon tree, called the Greenmetal Tree, drains not only water through its roots but potent minerals as well. These trees blunt saws and break axes, and are quite resistant to fire; however, eventually time catches up to them and they fall. When properly harvested, the core of a Greenmetal tree becomes a strange metal called Living Metal. Living Metal drains the minerals from other metals, as well as repairing its own damage, as if still alive.

Glossy moss-green in color, sometimes seems to shift and move.

Living Metal repairs itself when damaged, and if a weapon strikes armor or a shield made of living metal it has a chance to break.

Found all over the world, but most commonly in Lothlorien, where the Wood Elves have perfected the art of harvesting Living Metal.

Once properly harvested, Living Metal can be smelted and forged just like iron.
