The people of Arkham Country
The people who live in and/or are descended from the inhabitants of Arkham Country are Arkhamites. They are tall, pale, dark-haired people, with usually dour expressions to match their dreary homeland. pragmatic and logical, Arkhamites are great thinkers, inventors, artists, and intellectuals, although they are more than capable in a fight.

Most Arkhamites believe in honesty, hard work, and smart innovation, working towards making life easier while still making an honest day's work.

Arkhamites have successfully created methods of skyship production that allows a skyship to be built in two-thirds the normal time, and they have also advanced military and production technology to the point that Arkham Country is one of the wealthiest nations in the world.

Akin to Victorian mannerisms and etiquette, especially in high society
Common Dress code
no real dress code, though most Arkhamites choose to fully cover their bodies because of their ease of which they get sunburns and the chillier climate most of them live in.
Art & Architecture
victorian-gothic architecture, but their art is mostly renaissance in nature (e.g. portraits, bold, natural colors, accurate landscapes and slice-of-life vignettes)
Common Customs, traditions and rituals
Prayer before meals, especially seafood; holiday feasts, such as New Year's Eve, the Winter and Summer Solstices, Gallows Night, and the Celebration of Saint Durand; throwing a coin into the ocean when voyaging out, as tribute for Nautilus, the Drowned God.
Birth & Baptismal Rites
Many Arkhamites follow Nautilus, the Drowned God, and when their children are born they are baptised by pouring salt water over their feet and foreheads.
Coming of Age Rites
to signify coming-of-age, Arkhamites have various rituals they perform, dependent on the hopeful's profession or familial heritage; most nobles, almost all soldierly families, and some peasants stage mock fights with blunted weapons; hunters and woodsmen usually go on a ritual hunt where the hopeful must slay a sizeable animal; craftsmen must complete a fine work with no assistance; and fishermen or other sailors must survive a night out at sea in a small, one-person boat alone.
Funerary and Memorial customs
Depending on the area they live, Arkhamites observe many different funerary customs. Those that live in the marshlands or on the coasts without substantial viable land for burial burn their dean on pyres, while those in the grasslands and the forests bury their dead in great graveyards, necropolises, and crypts. many of the larger cities also have above-ground mausoleums and necropolises.
Common Taboos
Cannibalism and incest are among the highest taboos of Arkhamite society, as are rape, pedophilia, and necrophilia.

Historical figures
Saint Durand was a cleric of Nautilus and a great sailor over three hundred years ago, who was lost at sea for a hundred days with his crew and the crown prince and princess; he returned, after losing many men to the storms of the Atlantean Ocean and attacks by the Deep Ones, but with the royal children alive. He later led a defense force of only thirty ships and 10,000 men against the great Stygian armada, saving the ports of Marblehead and Kingsport from foreign invasion.
Ideals
Beauty Ideals
Fair, unblemished skin, oiled and straight hair, often jet-black, fit physiques
Gender Ideals
Men are born with testicles and a penis, and women with a uterus and vagina. This dictates most Arkhamite's notions on gender, though transgender men and women exist, but are extremely rare.
Courtship Ideals
Courtship can happen between anyone, whether two men, a man and woman, or two women, or even between those of other races. Marriage is legal and available for all options
Relationship Ideals
Divorce is not uncommon for Arkhamites, nor is arranged marriage, though the vast majority of them meet early in life, and partner for the rest of it.
