Arkham Country, Aegis of the East
Where Dark Things Rise in Secret
Arkham Country: the Aegis of the East. A large kingdom situated on the Atlantean Ocean, separated from the western lands by the near-impassable Derleth Mountains. Comprised of grassy plains, dark forests, mist-filled marshes and swamps, and plenty of river-and-coastal beaches, Arkham Country is an eerily beautiful place, forever bound to its dependence on the water and the access it provides to the rest of the world.
Assets
The Derleth Mountains are ripe with all manner of minerals, from precious metals and gemstones to industrial necessities and raw ores. Iron, silver, gold, copper, platinum, tin, mithral, and adamantine are all found, as well as a wide variety of precious stones such as diamonds, emeralds, rubies, opals, jade, and various forms of quartz.
The forests of Arkham Country provide a sustainable amount of raw lumber, as well as some specialized woods, particularly Luftwood, which is used in the construction of skyships due to its almost magical bouyancy. Other special woods are used in construction, alchemy, and other more specialized fields, or used by various organizations (such as the Druids) for religious or traditional ceremonies and construction.
The rivers and coastlands of Arkham Country provide an abundance of fishing opportunities, and so long as fishermen don't venture too far out into the dark and unpredictable Atlantean Ocean it is relatively safe. This is Arkham Country's largest export and most plentiful resource; in addition to fishing, wreck-diving, pearl farming, coastal mining, and oceanic travel are large resources exploited by the Arkhamites.
