Perdidit In Cinere
In a time before a particular history was destroyed, there were a people who drew no attention. The folk lived mild lives with ease, peace, fulfillment of basic necessities. At last, an eager generation was born, a generation that presses into innovation. A king was chosen from them, a good king. The Good King lead his people with righteous intentions to bring new joys and prosperity. The Good King was undisputed and supported by all of the people, he lead and bore a son, a good son. In the Good King's old age, he passed the crown to his Good Son. The Good Son lead the kingdom just as his father did. The kingdom began to grow in riches, food, trade, and people. In his old age, the Good Son had ten sons of his own. He loved each of his sons. At each of their births, he would ask the kingdom's oracle about the life of his new son. With this prophecy in mind, he would commission a ring, for his ten sons he had ten rings. The ten rings each were symbolic of what the ten sons could accomplish and the ten rings together were a testament of the power of the Good son and his kingdom. The Good Son became old and it came time to pass his reign. However, he couldn't choose just one son whom to give the crown to, so he passed on his ten rings to his ten sons, each ring to the son it represented. He told them that they were to be equally yoked in ruling the kingdom, if they depended and respected the others the kingdom could prosper.
The Good Son passed away and the ten sons had to confront the challenge of ruling the kingdom together. Well, each brother had a different idea of how to rule. None could agree, and none would respect the others. None except the eldest brother. The eldest desperately tried to keep good-meaning relationships with all the brothers. Feeling at a complete loss the eldest son asked the kingdom's oracle what to do. She only instructed the eldest son to make a ring for each of his own sons, much like his father did. So the eldest son began to make rings. The other sons were threatened by this, thinking that the eldest son was planning to usurp their power with his own rings. So they each made rings for all their sons. With all the ten sons making rings, they fail to prepare for a sudden siege from a horrible Warband. The kingdom quickly fell into ruin, and the ruin burned into ash. And as quickly as the siege from the horrible Warband started, the horrible Warband left. There was no one left to rebuild the kingdom. The ten rings of the Good Son and his sons' rings were hidden in the ash, presumably gone forever with the kingdom.
Though the kingdom's history and power are gone, its tale lives in song and prose. And the ten and more rings are still around. The kingdom's oracle, seeing the impending siege, had fled before its danger arrived. The kingdom's oracle raced to a neighboring kingdom to deliver one last prophecy. The prophecy promised that the rings would be plucked from the ash. Those who plucked the rings would become the heirs to the lost kingdom. Together the heirs could rebuild the kingdom Lost to Ash, the kingdom Perdidit In Cinere. There are some small royalties who claim to have found one of these rings, a Cinere Ring, but no one can confirm the truth of it until all of the Cinere Rings are collected and the heirs work together to rebuild, rebuild the kingdom Perdidit In Cinere.
