'Akhai is the most renowned Eolas in all of history, a sailor known for her brave soul and her temptings of fate. She is the first to ever sail into the Yngveig and return.
It was her return that marked the beginning of the Age of Sails.

Personal history

'Akhai grew up in a Eolas city on the water, floating on the east side of Vensea. She was always an adventurer and left home early to explore the world beyond.
She found her way to Tingsbreach, and was soon pulled back onto sea. Eolas are rare in cities, and her presence upset many. Several times she tried enlisting with the navy of Tingsbreach, but was turned away again and again due to her heritage. But she was not deterred.
She began taking small dirty jobs on ships, biding her time and exploring more and more of the well-travelled waters. But she was restless and though she tried to keep in line, she felt like she could do more. So instead of taking up as mercenary on another small ship, she smuggled herself onto a crew of the navy.

When the Far-dive Expedition was planned, it was no doubt that 'Akhai would not be the leader of the expedition. She took her ship, The Seas' Howl, and recruited Jamys to go along with his, The Dawnbreaker. They, along with a small following, set off into the Yngveig in the year of 416 AoF, and did not return, considered missing and dead.
At least not for a thousand years. In 1387 AoS, 'Akhai returned through the Yngveig, it having only passed a few decades for her and her crew. They spoke of the far realms they had seen and visited, wild creatures and wonderous things. And the Navigator's Compass that allowed them to sail home.
Considered even more of a hero now, 'Akhai's return changed the world.
'Akhai left into the Yngveig as soon as the Navigator's Compass was blueprinted, and is to this day travelling down the Yngveig in search of her companion Jamys. She has been back several times with new discoveries, using Vyngaard as a hub.

Accomplishments & Achievements

'Akhai is one of Vyngaard's best sailors throughout history, known not only for her ability to maneuver any ship through any weather, but also her combat prowess, both on a ship and on the ground. She has been used as a key piece in many battles.
She is the only one to ever have caught the notorious pirate Jamys Windtaker, which resulted in him joining her side.
