Kiyomi Soshi
Soshi Kiyomi is a young samurai just past her gempuku. Assigned by her honored grandfather to serve as her brother, Shijima Soshi's attendant, she spends much of her time tending to his whims. Mild mannered and earnest, she makes the image of the model Crane or Phoenix housewife, which is quite out of place in the Scorpion Clan.
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Kiyomi is a healthy young woman. Not especially fit like a bushi, she has a buxom, curvy physique that she goes to great lengths to conceal under her kimono.
Body Features
Only visible in dark lighting, Kiyomi has a shadowbrand at the bottom of her ribcage.
Facial Features
Quite the beauty, Kiyomi has very soft features. A round face, full lips, and large eyes, she hardly fits the image of a typical Scorpion beauty, which only adds to her mystique.
Identifying Characteristics
Kiyomi's most notable feature is her eyes, which have a unique purple tint in the sunlight.
Apparel & Accessories
Like all proper Scorpions, Kiyomi wears a mask. Hers is a simple one, a rather plain cloth opera style half mask with a net pattern. Unlike most Scorpions, she tends to wear conservative kimonos with high necklines and long sleeves and skirts. She prefers floral patterns and while she wears the clan colors, she tends to favor red over black. Finally, Kiyomi is almost never seen without her signature iris kanzashi.

Education
Kiyomi trained as a courtier directly under her grandfather, and attended her gempuku at a minor Bayushi courtier dojo in Otosan Uchi.
Employment
Only just past her gempuku, Kiyomi's current assignment is a simple one, to serve as her brother's attendant.

DISTINCTIONS:
Affect of Harmlessness: Kiyomi is the posterchild of a junshin, and it's clear as day to everyone who's ever met her.
Iron Will: Not that she would ever realize herself, Kiyomi has mental fortitude far surpassing even experienced and seasoned samurai and monks.
PASSIONS:
Gourmet: The only skill Kiyomi has chosen to pursue herself. She's become an excellent cook and developed a refined palate.
Failures & Embarrassments
ADVERSITIES:
Cognitive Lapses: As with all who bear a Shadowbrand, Kiyomi's memory and mind suffer from it's power. She experiences much worse symptoms though...
Haunting: The shadow takes more and more of her with every time she touches its power. More and more it leaves something in its wake.
ANXIETIES:
Dark Secret: Kiyomi has a piece of the Obsidian Mirror lodged in her heart, making her a vessel for the unnamed darkness that lurks within the Void.
Isolation: As a Scorpion, she is often required to betray people's trust. Kiyomi hates this, and is pained by her attachments knowing she'll one day have to break them off.
Mental Trauma
Since her adoption, Kiyomi has been subjected to repeated tortures. It is rare for a person to receive more than one shadowbrand, but Adorai has subjected her to the ritual almost nightly for ten years, layering one brand upon the last. Coupled with the way she is constantly forced to betray the trust of nigh everyone she meets to further Shijima's aims in court, she has come to view herself as irrevocably tainted and monstrous.
Given how little the spirits have been able to help her, her prayers are rare. She resents how free the Air spirits are, how strong the Earth spirits are, how passionate the Fire spirits are, and how open the Water spirits are, as these are things she wishes to be and feels she never will be.

Contacts & Relations
Kiyomi is the youngest child of Isawa Nagato, adopted by Byakuya in accordance with a 300 year old agreement between their families. Isawa Ayame is her elder sister.
Family Ties
Kiyomi is the daughter of the late Soshi Byakuya, and younger sister of Shijima Soshi . Her honored grandfather, Soshi Adorai, is the head of her household.
Religious Views
Kiyomi is a Soshi and like most of her family, offers her prayers to the spirits silently when she offers them at all. Unlike her family however, she is no Fortunist, instead offering prayers to the Elemental spirits instead.
Social Aptitude
Up until recently Kiyomi was a rather gloomy girl and has few close friends. She's begun to come out of her shell, but only to a close inner circle.
Mannerisms
Kiyomi uses a highly formal and polite tone, even around close friends and family. Despite this, she still generally comes across as warm and earnest. When caught off guard or nervous, she does have tendency to clam up and remain awkwardly quiet.
Hobbies & Pets
Kiyomi's hobbies are very traditional or domestic in nature. She enjoys practicing kyudo and creating simple origami, but more than anything she enjoys cooking.
Wealth & Financial state
Her grandfather has amassed quite a fortune, which her brother freely accesses for his duties at court and for his own amusements. Kiyomi does not share the same favor, and receives a modest stipend.
The mild mannered younger sister of Soshi Shijima. A helpless seeming girl with a passion for cooking and few friends. Surprisingly, she can be quite stubborn at times.
