Lennaert van Noye

Lord Lennaert van Noye (a.k.a. Lenny)

Daring, quick-witted, and perceptive, Lennaert is much like his older brother Gysbert, who manages the Duchy of Roste in the family name. Much to the great shame of the van Noye family, however, Lennaert is also cowardly, untrustworthy, and a lecher, known only by those truly close to him. Still, the man is widely considered a brave and adventurous hero who always comes out on top of any adversity or problem, and is the subject of much poetic prose and song in popular Imperial society.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Lennaert is a karge, well-conditioned man; he is sturdy and broad shouldered, physically strong, and has an imposing stature because of it.

Facial Features

Lennaert sports his iconic moustache; long and conspicuous whiskers twirled at the ends. Men generally sport grand facial hair in Imperial society, and Lennaert is no different. His moustache and facial features are widely considered quite handsome, with high cheekbones, a defined masculine jaw, and piercing, though also mysterious eyes that hide his true intent.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Lennaert has grown up during his entire life in lavish Imperial courts, and is very accustomed to the lifestyle associated with it. However, he also meddles in the darker side of high society, engaging in even criminal elements to get other "lucuries" not normally found amongst those in good standing. While socializing amongst other high-borns, he maintains proper etiquette and behaviour, but when not, he turns to rather abhorrent behaviour; partially encouraged by his and his older brother's seedier contacts and associates.

Sexuality

Lennaert is a raspcallion with a singular ambition: to bed as many women as possible until the Lord beckons him to his Kingdom and the final Rest. The true number of women that Lennaert has partaken sexual intercourse with is unknown, though it is potentially a number in the higher hundreds due to his suave and charming nature. In fact, some argue he's even bedded over a thousand women, and given his character, this is not unlikely.

Education

Lennaert was educated at court, much in the same way as his older brother and the Emperor Otto von Krik -- with the finest tutelage money can buy. As such, he is extremely knowledgeable in regards to political affairs, such as leading troops or fiscal management of the realm. As a hedonist, that bored him greatly, however, and he often found himself engaged in more frivolous (and often promiscuous) pursuits as a young man entering adulthood.

Accomplishments & Achievements

Many of the accomplishments associated with Lennaert van Noye's name, are often ones he did not even do any action about; Lennaert's associates often deserve the praise, but he was the one who is often seen as the one who achieved greatness. Many of his most widely known "accomplishments", such as slaying the Orc Chieftain Alghork the Mighty (who had terroized the southern reaches of the Empire) singlehandedly in a duel, Saving Northern Sondar from foreign invasion by a rival Kingdom, and preventing the entire Knochenwalder Rebellion of 1496 with a sudden and unexpected diplomatic intervention, are all largely exaggerated versions of what actually happened, spread by those who were unaware that Lennaert was largely trying to avoid any of these situations and dealing with them. Most of the time, Lennaert finds himself in major issues and ends up unintentionally solving them, leading to the association that the man radiates good luck and fortune, though that is far from the truth and reality.   Accomplishments Lennaert actually did manage to achieve, are bedding over fifty Knochenwalder Elven court women, both wed and unwed, somehow managing to bed the sister of Alghork the Mighty, and even bedding the Queen of Sylvanea at the time when it was preparing to militarilycontest ownership of Northern Sondar. Unsurprisingly, Lennaert did little to actually positively involve himself in resolving any of the aforementioned issues, and in fact even encourages these rumours to spread for his own amusement. This causes great strain to the noble image of the van Noye family, earning him the reputation as a sort of black sheep in their line, albeit one who is an excellent individual who largely helps more than he hinders.

History

Lennaert is a cousin to the Emperor himself, and as such, knows him quite well. Lennaert finds the often jovial nature of Otto when he is amongst family and friends to satisfy his hedonistic behaviours more than his brother. When in more informal situations, the two often share wine and food.

Known Languages
Due to his noble upbringing, Lennaert knows many languages. He can fluently speak Rosteman, as it is his native tongue, but also High Cimborman, Sylvanean, Elven and various dialects of it, all of the Imperial dialects as if he grew up speaking them, Gorvjanic, Gautic, Rhaeturian, and even the various Dwarven languages. It is unknown where he obtained the mastery of these languages or his surprising linguistic inclination, but it serves him well in navigating through troubles he may face with other peoples outside of Roste.
