Tokyps
A species of Kypo, much more intelligent to the point of being sentient. They are smaller, about the size of a horse, and have more powerful Lera abilities.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Tokyps have 2 legs, and 2 wings that end in three fingered hands. They have fur that covers most of their body apart from the head and some of the wings. They have powerful clawed feet.
Their heads have thin, bony armour and 2 - 4 horns depending on race.
Genetics and Reproduction
Tokyps lay eggs.
Growth Rate & Stages
Tokyps are born without fur, and only very small horns. A week after birth they gain soft, fluffy fur to keep them warm. As they grow older through adolescence their horns will grow greatly in size, and their fur molts, they regrow adult fur during this time. During adolescence Tokyps are capable of flight, but must learn how from their parents. Once they reach maturity they leave the nest, in search of a spot to make their own, usually a mile away from any other Kypo.
The times for these stages are:
Egg: 1 month.
Newly hatched: 3 months.
Young: 5 years.
Adolescence: 6 years.
Maturity: Depending on race a healthy Tokyp can live for 80-120 years.
Ecology and Habitats
Tokyps are spread in various spots of the globe, from the cold north to the hot deserts of Rezakia.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Tokyps are omnivores, and eat fruit, some vegetables, and meat.
Additional Information
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Tokyps have excellent senses all around, they have highly accurate eyesight, sensitive hearing in ranges above human, and can use Lera to sense everything around them without looking or hearing.
Civilization and Culture
Average Technological Level
Tokyp communities are so sparse that they have a varying level of technology. A few of the largest have technology similar to modern humans. Electricity, advanced weaponry, telecommunications for example.
Major Language Groups and Dialects
There are a selection of languages and dialects for Tokyps depending on geographical location.
Common Dress Code
Tokyps don't often wear clothes, but do use them to survive in colder environments. Mainly they adorn themselves with jewelry or armour.

History
Tokyps were discovered by humanity in 2100 when an anthropologist by the name of Aimel Talkeji went on an expedition to the Kalgitian isles to study it's variety of animals and plant life (and eat a few of them). His airship came under attack from a Tokyp after he had stolen it's egg, having found it in a cave that looked like the home of a giant man. In actual fact this was the Tokyps dwelling.
There had been incidents between Tokyps and Humans before, but they were mostly myths and tall tales up until this point. Everyone on the ship had seen it. Only a few centuries earlier, Kypos (Non-sentient Tokyps) were spotted in various locations all over the world.
Tokyps were just about sentient at the time, and no doubt would have become the planets ruling species if not for humanities quick breeding. Today Tokyps avoid humans, their destruction of habitats and ecosystems has forced them to small sections of the globe, places no humans can live.
Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
Humans and Tokyps have attempted communication throughout history, but never been very successful. They simply can't speak the same language. Instead, the two species will fight or compete with each other for territory, food, and valuable items.
Very rarely will a Human and Tokyp work together. But there have been stories of Tokyps rescuing Humans lost at sea, or injured in the wilderness. The same can be said for Humans that find a Tokyp near or in human settlements.
Mostly Tokyps avoid humans and their settlements, but sometimes this is unavoidable, and chaos usually ensues. A Tokyp may fly over a city, and have to find food or water urgently. Depending on the country and city, there may be laws against Tokyps landing in the city.
In other countries there are laws and guidelines in place between Tokyp communities and the city due to proximity with eachother. If a Tokyp needs food or water it can land in one of the Kypo towers, which feed and water Kypos. The authorities in charge of Kypo towers will know what to do.
Throughout history there have also been many confrontations between Tokyps and Humans, and at one point a full on war. In the modern age most countries try to use diplomacy to avoid any deaths on either side.

Conservation Status
Some countries maintain secure areas, or national parks where Tokyps can be undisturbed by Human intrusion.
