Setik

Setiks command around 100 warriors each, called a Kod.

Qualifications

A Setik can be chosen for any number of reasons, regardless of qualification, but most commonly are chosen for their tactical and leadership skills. Most Setiks have the following:   Advanced combat training, or equivalent results in a combat test.   At least basic tactical training or equivalent proof of tactical mastery.   Leadership skills displayed in actual battles.   Firearms training (in the modern age)   As a bare minimum a Setik must be able to read and write in order to effectively do his/her job.

Requirements

Must be a citizen of the Mregian Empire.   Must be over 18

Appointment

The Kirihes of an army will promote an exceptional soldier, or squad leader. The potential Setik has the right to say no, but it is a great honour to be chosen, not to mention lucrative.   When chosen, a new Setik must undergo a background check, and take a pledge to serve the Empire first, and then their superior.

Duties

A Setik is in command of 100 Soldiers, and is expected to relay commands from the Kirihes effectively to all these soldiers. Other than simply commanding these hundred, a Setik must oversee supply and training of the soldiers, or discipline them if needed.

Responsibilities

A Setik assigns tasks to squad leaders via radio or in a meeting, special missions must be relayed to them if any are given. When orders are given by the Kirihes or lord, the Setik must relay to all the squad leaders the order. The order may not be specific, so the Setik must sometimes use his/her own tactical planning to carry out the order successfully.   Supply and ordinance are the responsibility of the Setik as well, requests from squad leaders must be relayed up the chain of command in order to maintain the company, it's weaponry, ammo, and provisions.

Benefits

Setiks get a hefty boost to their salary, (50,000-60,000 clauds per year) free housing for immediate family members and themself, and a choice of advanced training options relevant to their rank.   Setiks may enter level 2 secured areas and provinces, and if they are a non Nylicertian they may migrate there with immediate family members.

Accoutrements & Equipment

Depending on personal preference, a Setik has a choice of heavy or light armour with built in exoskeleton and ALMs to give them a significant advantage in combat. The helmet contains a Visor giving them tactical information without the need for a screen. The armour is decorated according to their Royal Territory colours and crest, along with the crest of the Lord they belong to. (For example, their lord might belong to the Nyrivus Royal Territory, so will usually be coloured accordingly. If camouflague is needed the crest will remain.)   A fine sword matching their personal preference, ceremonial mostly, but can also be used as a weapon.   Along with the armour and sword, a short red cape or piece of fabric in the colour of the Royal territory they belong to is attached to the left shoulder, so that they can be identified from the back.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

A Setik can be removed on any grounds, but can defend themselves from being removed by initiating a duel, or pleading a higher authority to give them protection.
