Rezeida (Sword)

A sword made not for a wild battlefield, but for personal protection in peacetime. The Rezeida resembles a Ninjato, single edged, straight, with a sharp point. It is different in that it has a longer blade, and a cross guard rather than the traditional Japanese circle guard. The blade is polished to a shine, and maintained as such, unless the owner is of a specific organisation which uses a blackened blade to make it less conspicuous.
Many Rezeida have a Lerite Gemstone embedded in the hilt, which may or may not be sentient, and thus, capable of moving the weapon independent of it's user.
All Rezeida have engravings which tell the full name of it's user, required by law, along with their family motto, or any other extra text the user wants placed upon the blade, perhaps a short poem, or a steadily increasing kill count.
