House Kiggra

Seabird - White, Red - Sea   This house specialises in sea bourne combat and coastal defence. They are historically the ship builders of the empire, supplying the best and most ships. Kiggra are known to be unstable, schizophrenic, or outright insane. They rule from the great coastal castle said to defend against sea monsters. The myth goes that the first Kiggra gave his sanity, and the sanity of his descendants, to the sea god. In exchange, the sea god gave him a ship, crafted from the very cliff that the Kiggra castle now sits atop of. This ship was massive, and would grant him the power to hunt sea monsters, until the last of his mind trickles away.   Kiggrajins were historically known as raiders. Using their ship's to attack coastal towns and escape quickly before reinforcements show up. They didn't often attack Mregian settlements, preferring to raid Vernan and Kalgitian coasts.

History

House Kiggra is built on the legend of it's founder: Kimond Kiggra, a mythical captain who sold his sanity to the sea god in order to hunt and kill a terrifying sea monster that had murdered his wife, and terrorized the sea for centuries. Kortsegoi was a leviathan like creature, thought to be the king of all sea monsters. Sent by Dygdemi (the world eater), Kortsegoi is capable of dragging ships to their doom, deep below the waves.   Kimond spent most of his life hunting and killing sea monsters aboard his legendary vessel. His sanity slowly faded away until his final day, in the final battle with Kortsegoi. There are a few different endings to the tale, but the most accepted is that he was last seen wrestling Korsegoi, as they both sunk into the depths, never to be seen again. Nobody knows if Kimond got his revenge, and nobody has ever found his legendary ship.   Of course, this is only a myth. Told by a family with dubious sanity. It seems that Kimonds curse was hereditary, and all his descendants now share it. Even if their mate is sane, a newly born Kiggra grows up to be either eccentric or downright schizophrenic. For the most part they are the former. Kiggrans are known for their crazy tactics, and questionable fighting styles. But it usually works to their advantage. Their unorthodox way of thinking makes them unpredictable, but also hard to control.
