House Hokra

Sparrow - Brown and red - Forest Hokrans are famous for their tactical brilliance and absolute mastery of the sword. They are the second oldest house, and maintain their borders fiercely. The forest they reside in has unique trees that produce excellent wood, used in a wide range of things. It was the houses monopoly on this wood, along with their skilled warriors gained them the crown. They are known to be honourable and fair rulers, and are the most likely to rule, their only real competitors are House Pofgyt, whom they have a fierce rivalry with. The houses' army has the best training, experience and good quality equipment.

History

House Hokra was the first house to be born after the original King of Mregia (King Pofgyt) began his invasion of Nylicert. Aldis Hokra was the second in command to King Pofgyt, but saw that the king would only create another greed driven nation. Aldis took half the army, and escaped to the forests to create a new country, free of tyranny. The King swore revenge, and for 2 years he besieged the forest, bathing it in the blood of traitors. Eventually the civil war came to a stalemate of death and destruction. Both sides would have been destroyed if Hokra had not yielded. There were terms to his surrender: 1. He be allowed to form a royal house, which can govern it's territory however they see fit. 2. The new houses be allowed to have an army to defend it against other houses. 3. The houses will still be loyal to the crown, pay taxes and answer any summons to war at the kings disgression. 4. The King must duel Aldis for posession of the crown. The king thought he would easily win the duel, and then execute Hokra and his followers for treason, but he lost. The terms were fulfilled by the new King Hokra, and formed the foundation of Mregian society as it stands today.
