House Besseri

Owl - Grey and yellow - Dessert   The Besseri clan are wise, secretive, and pride themselves on knowledge and perception. They have spies everywhere, and have been known to influence the other houses.   They sell their secrets, unlike the Tukmyr house, Whom they have been trying to infiltrate for many years. Because of their thirst for knowledge they have excellent records of history, alchemy, combat and many other subjects. Their capital houses the largest library on the continent, a staggering 3 million books.   In modern times they carried on their infiltration trade, gathering secrets from countries across the sea's.   The Besseri are renowned for being experts at deception, and have many shining examples of military deception. Their city hides a great many things, and there are a few locations in Besseri land which are hidden quite well, despite the desert.

History

The Besseri house was once just a seperatist faction of Kalgitians. They wished to preserve the knowledge, and history of the then toppled Kalgitian Empire, but the Emperor was intent on destroying that knowledge, lest it be used against them.   The Besseri city became a neutral place, catering to both Kalgitian locals, and Mregian explorers. It was inevitable that one of the two would make a move to take the city, likely damaging or outright destroying the knowledge held there in the process.   The leader of the Besseri city struck a deal with the Mregian king; in return for allowing them to create a new house, and be part of Mregia, he would send spies into Kalgitia to gather intel about their military plans. The king agreed, and the Besseri house was born. It took some time for its leader to acclimatise to the interior politics of Mregian society, but within a couple of decades they were well established.
