Åriahold (Aur-ree-ah hold), Åria in the Common tongue meaning Ever, is home to the Sapphire Flame Magi College, and a pinnacle of scholastic endeavors throughout the realm. Åriahold, often referred to as Everhold, is also a port city turned naval fort after the events of the Obsidian Tempest. The Magi of Everhold, in service to the Númarian navy, patrol the waters where the Briny Depth Sea meets the Rotting Sea. The combined powers of the Númarian navy and Sapphire Magi has proven an effective measure fighting against Gahldôrrim naval forces.
However, many amongst the academic world condemn the use of the Sapphire Fire Magi's College mages as instruments of war. While the service is voluntary, students of the college are offered to have their educational expenses waived if they pledge five years of service to the Númarian military after graduating. Given the doors being able to wield magic opens, many are all to eager to accept.
The flood of new Magi has not come without further scrutiny from religious leaders and communities throughout the kingdom as many of those staunch in the teachings of their faith believe the use of magics outside the divine are what caused the Obsidian Tempest. Many of the more devout have taken to protesting against the continued use of none divine magics. Some radicalized zealots have even taken to forming their own groups, enacting violence and massacres against Magi.
