Vampires

Vampires in Voldaran are not unlike vampires in other worlds. The most common Vampire is the Moroi, however, for some unknown reason by scholars, Moroi Vampires in Voldaran were able to create specific bloodlines. A group of Vampires that belong to a specific bloodline is called a Vampire Clan. Normally, the differences in a bloodline is insignificant, a vampire made by any bloodline will have the same base powers as any other vampire. However these clans have noticed the subtle differences in their blood, and when taught to use those differences, can bring about whole new powers specific to the clan. This is the main difference between a Clan and any other group of vampires; a Clan knows how to bring out the latant powers of their bloodline to full force. It is unknown how many clans their are, but some experts in the area have managed to document a few.   Vampires are born when a mortal dies to a vampire feeding. The Vampire then feeds the victim their vampiric blood and buries the body, after 3 nights, the body rises as a vampire spawn, under the control of its creator.   A vampire can only control as many spawn as their willpower can handle, if they control too many, some spawn can use the opportunity to break free. Otherwise a spawn can only break free by it's master's consent, it's master's death, or by becoming too strong for the master to control.    A spawn becomes a true vampire either by drinking it's master's blood (something considered taboo if done without permission), or by gaining strength by other means. It's at this point the vampire gain the ability to make more of its kind, along with any bloodline abilities if it was trained by a clan.   Vampirism can also be a gift through evil entities who have dominion over undeath in some way, most notability Urgotha. These Vampire can then go on to create whole bloodlines and clans of their own.   There are other forms of Vampirism, such as the Nosferatu and the Jiang-shi, but these vampires follow different rules and tend to be more solidary.
