Official History of the Cennti Empire, 400 to 500 AU

In 407 AU, Alba turns on Eire, their former allies, and invade the neighboring kingdom. In 408, Eire is completely annexed by Alba. Many nobles love the new OuterWorld Initiative, it allows them to expand their power by taking the territories of weaker kingdoms and states, but just as many believe that this policy of allowing internal warfare will be the downfall of the Empire. Marcus the 14th dies in 411, not living to see the full consequences of his actions.   Marcus the 15th cared little for the internal affairs of his empire, preferring to focus on the external, expanding and securing his empire’s borders. His first major act as emperor was an invasion of Tiriande, a swamp world infested with orcs just outside his domain. In 419 Imperial troops landed on the world and began to purge it of all orcs. The first Tiriande War ended in 424 with resounding success, and the newly conquered lands were given to veterans of the conflict. Minor conflicts between territories within the empire were the norm now, but were illegal during times of war. So in 429, Marcus the 15th declared another war to conquer Tiriande, making sure to drag it out for as long as possible. The last major orc resistance was destroyed at the battle of Green Hill in 435. With no clear threat left and increasing pressure from noble houses, the emperor officially declared the war a victory for the Cennti Empire. Tiriande was officially annexed in 441, Marcus the 15th died a year later.   Marcus the 16th was coronated in 442 AU, while the corpse of his father was still warm. At this time major factions were forming within the empire, the Kingdom of Alba was in control of over half of Gelgoreg, and a decent amount of the mana mines on Yeshi. A coalition of nobles and politicians on Eot under the leadership of House Magester posed a major threat to the powers of the emperor, demanding a more decentralized government. Independence movements were happening all across the OuterWorlds, the two largest being confederate die hards on Briathone and Goliath chieftains on Aitov. Marcus the 16th tried to deal with all of these factions as best as he could, concessions were made to Briathone separatists in 449, and land was added to the Goliath reservation in 451. Negotiations were never made with the Magester Coalition, the emperor feared he would be murdered like Marcus the 6th was at the start of the Recun revolt. In 455 Marcus the 16th declared the Magester Coalition illegal, and began persecuting members. In response Magester, Karnin, and Tetra raised their armies and marched for the capital. The Coalition army was attacked by an Imperial army in Recun. While the Imperials were outnumbered on the ground, they had a major advantage in the air. Imperial ships dropped fireballs and boiling oil on Coalition infantry, forcing them to retreat. The Coalition army was eventually cornered and defeated in 457, ending the revolt. Many of those who rebelled were pardoned by the emperor, but the main perpetrators were hanged in front of the Imperial Palace, their titles passed on to more loyal members of their families. The Kingdom of Alba, in order to avoid being weakened or destroyed, allied themselves with the emperor. They portrayed themselves as a stable constant on Gelgoreg, ensuring that the world is kept in order and paying their taxes, this worked. Marcus the 16th spent the rest of his reign dealing bringing order to the empire, it is a shame that it turned out to be all for naught. Marcus the 16th died in 490 AU.   Marcus the 17th was coronated in 491 AU, and his first act as emperor was getting rid of his nine year old bastard Sulla, revoking from him the Marcus family name and sending him off to become a paladin, where he would serve and eventually die for the Empire. Marcus the 17th never has another child, at least not one with his legal wife. He preferred instead to drink and gamble, countless parties and orgies were held in his palace. Chaos ran through the empire as various factions took advantage of this incompetent emperor, destroying all the hard work of his father.
