1. The Captain, Quartermaster, Boatswain, Doctor, Mate, Gunner, and Carpenter will each receive one full share of the spoils from any prize; two full shares will be given to the Ship's coffers, to be distributed by the Quartermaster in order to pay the crew's wages, keep the Ship in good order and true repair, and make injury payments when necessary; one full share will be kept in a separate fund by this Ship, and each successive Ship of the Fleet, in order to maintain a Fort, once founded.
2. Every man has a vote in affairs of the moment; has equal title to the fresh provisions, or strong liquors, at any time seized, and may use them at pleasure, unless a scarcity makes it necessary, for the good of all, to vote a retrenchment.
3. That no man shall open, or declare to any person or persons, who they are, or what designs they are upon; and any persons so offending shall be punished with immediate death.
4. If any man shall offer to run away, or keep any secret from the ship crew, that would harm the crew or her well being, he shall be marooned with one pistol with one shot and one bottle of strong liquor.
5. No striking one another on board, but every man's quarrels are to be ended on shore, with sword and pistol. The Quartermaster of the ship, when the parties will no come to any reconciliation, accompanies them on shore, and turns the disputants back to back, at twenties paces distance; at the word of command, they turn and fire immediately. If both miss, they come to their cutlasses, and then he is declared the victor who draws the first blood.
6. That man that shall strike another whilst these articles are in force, shall receive Moses' Law (40 stripes lacking one on the bare back).
7. He that shall be guilty of drunkenness in time of engagement shall receive Moses' Law.
8. He that shall be found guilty of cowardice in time of engagement shall be keel hauled.
9. During time of engagement, he who disobeys the Captain's order, or the Quartermaster's or Boatswain's should the Captain be incapacitated shall be keel hauled.
10. If any man shall lose a joint in time of an engagement he shall have 50 gold pieces; if a limb 150. Any injured man may remain aboardas long as he shall think fit and as long as he does not impede the daily goings on of the ship, Addendum for reqen.
11. If any gold, silver, jewels, or other treasure be found on board any prize to the value of a gold piece or steel any thing from any member of the ship's crew to the values of a gold piece, and do not deliver it to the Quartermaster in the space of 24 hourshe shall be keel hauled.
12. If any man gamble any thing to the value of a gold piece, he shall receive Moses' Law.
13. If at any time you meet with a woman, that man that meddles with her, without her consent, shall suffer immediate death.
