Animomancy

Animomancy, or 'Mind-Magic', is the practise of manipulating the thoughts, emotions and souls of other human beings. Animomancy emerged as an offshoot of Phytomancy (Life-Magic) and has become Phytomancy's opposite force, with the two magical energies canceling each other out. Animomancy, due to its potentially horrifying consequences, is banned in almost all areas, with Animomages restricted to the almost lawless Da' Lands. This is also due to Animomagic sensitivity being a trait of The Da'.
