Thelysia hall

In the middle of Domum sat a large hall. The hall didn't house wares or coin but instead the sick and weak of the city. The hall was a clear sign of the empires dedication to it's citizen's wellbeing.   while some came to the hall for healing, others came to it for an education as a healer or caretaker. Education in the hall was free but did come at the cost of working in the hall for several years, both during and after the education.

Purpose / Function

The hall's purpose is twofold.

care for the sick

The hall had a grand hospital that could provide shelter for up to 500 sick with an additional 700 places in times of crisis. a massive team of doctors, nurses and other caretakers stood ready to help those in need of care.

education

The hall also boasted the empire's foremost medical university where both new doctors where educated and diseases and care techniques where studied.

Alterations

When the building was originally built, it was made out of clay bricks and mortar to speed up the building process. When the crisis was resolved, marble was added to the street facing side of the hall and other public areas to make it fit in better with the surrounding neighborhood in Domum.

Architecture

The original design was very sober and functional. Over the years artists have been permitted to add more imperial designs to the hall to fit the theme of the city better.

History

During the height of the Ketherian plague crisis  Queen Thelysia of the Heartlands decided to put her efforts into advancing medicine. One of her first steps was to construct a grand hall for the sick, which was later renamed to Thelysia hall.

Tourism

The hall is know all over the land, and often attracts visitors from far away.   For aspiring doctors or healers, the hall is almost seen as a pilgrimmage site.
