Marianne von Eisner

Princess Marianne von Eisner

Mental characteristics

Education

Marianne spent the better part of her life studying and preparing for when she would be given responsibility as part of the royal family. In addition to traditional material such as the routines of court and basic diplomacy, she also studied military strategy, foreign cultures, and trade.   She never intended to become an expert in any of the fields she researched as her responsibilities would keep her mostly in the capital, but Marianne wanted to ensure that she could converse with her advisors during meetings instead of being lectured to.

Accomplishments & Achievements

  • Helped establish the research program that lead to the creation of the Wraiths.
  • Advocated for reestablishing trade with Troth.

Failures & Embarrassments

  • Failed to give the research program the oversight it needed.
  • Is horrified to learn that the magic research program she helped create was responsible for schemes like the Slaughter House, directly harming and ruining her subjects.

Mental Trauma

Marianne's confidence takes a major blow following the revelations of what the research program had been doing and begins to question her own judgement and ability to help rule.

Morality & Philosophy

Marianne is loyal to her people and her country and takes her role as its future ruler seriously. In addition to preparing herself for said position, this serves as one of her main motivations for establishing the Wraith program (accelerating the recovery of Calian magical forces) and advocating for trade with Troth (deter future conflict).

Taboos

Marianne cares for her people and sees them as her subjects, not fodder for her own aims. Jeopardizing her subjects is something that she would only consider if it were unavoidable ("Bought and sold perhaps, but never needlessly spent").
