Personal history
Arwyn conspired with his uncle to frame Sylvia for compromising the family and causing the death of a high ranking member of another. The scandal ended not only with Sylvia being disowned by her family and forced to flee the country, but also forced their father to give up his life in order to appease the Wynsun Clan.
He used the fallout of the scandal to build up his own image as being the one who rebuilt their family’s reputation in addition to gaining Sylvia's inheritance while his uncle replaced his father as the acting head of the family.
Employment
Arwyn serves as the patriarch of the Vinya Family and one of the captain under his uncle and the Wynsun Clan.
Accomplishments & Achievements
In the years following his sister's disgrace and his father's death, Arwyn managed to slowly rebuild his family's reputation and standing within the Wynsun Clan through military service and administration of his family's domain. In doing so, he ended up bolstering his own reputation for being able to recover from the scandal.
Mental Trauma
He appears to have a sore spot when discussing the scandal surrounding his sister, but in reality, he hates being reminded of how Sylvia had always outshone him as they grew up. While Arwyn feels no guilt whatsoever for ruining her life, he does hate that he had to resort to framing her to win instead of besting her on actual merit.
Intellectual Characteristics
Arwyn, as what he did to Sylvia proved, is quite the schemer. This ended up playing a large role in his rebuilding of the family name as he became known for skills as a tactician for the military.
Morality & Philosophy
Arwyn is massively self-serving and self-centered. While he does maintain a firm facade of duty and amicability, the main question he considers when faced with someone else is how they can be of use to him, be it as a friend or foe.
He does not necessarily hate seeing other move up in society unless the person in question is moving to from a position beneath him to above him.

Say what you will about Arwyn, but the man is is second to none when it comes to scheming and covering his tracks.
If anything, he's arguably too good at hiding who he really is as Calista grew up admiring the man he presented himself as. This meant that when his true colors revealed, his daughter could only react with disgust.
