Grand Cleric Araston

The de facto leader and main religious head, Araston has been the Grand Cleric for 12 years.
The title Grand Cleric was developed to ensure that the faiths within Tinnet were protected and independent, within the need to heed to any political system. For over 1800 years, there has always been a Grand Cleric, chosen from the head clerics of the various faiths which are within Tinnet. Since its inception, even the faiths of the more shady deities have been protected and free from any outside influence.
Typically when a Grand Cleric dies, the high clerics of each faith within Tinnet meet at the capital and vote on the next Grand Cleric. The only rule in the process is that no cleric may vote for themselves. Thus ensures the vote is given to the most respected of the clerics. Araston, a male aarakoca cleric of Cuthbert, was chosen when he was 36, making him one of the youngest Grand Clerics to date.
Araston has taken the same approach of the majority of his predecessors, which is to stay away from global politics and instead focus on Tinnet. His immediate predecessor Varath, a female goliath cleric of Mishakal, was famous for her zeal in sending clerics to Hadrashar, something that Araston has not been as vocal of. However, Araston is frequently asked for his wisdom and knowledge and is seen as a wise and virtuous leader.
