Corona

The most northeastern country in Farandis, this country encompasses the Echuran peninsula and has made the most progress in exploration.
Corona was for years two separate countries, but about 1400 years ago, the smaller country of Corona, which sat mostly off the Echuran Peninsula, built a massive navy and conquered the larger nation of Bandof through a tactic of siege and starvation. Since then Corona has been a unified state under the Coronan monarchy. They are historical enemies with the nation of Gothul, due to the border conflicts, but have a long standing relationship with Umbria from across the Garis mountains.
The Coronan people are an inquisitive group, with a flair for the ocean and high seas, and are overwhelmingly dragonborn. They are the explorers, sailors, and sea merchants of Vestara. This has made the nation of Corona an extremely wealthy one, possibly the most wealthy in Farandis. They are also culturally a very religious people, and in history they have occasionally started minor wars over which deities deserve the most praise.
The current leader of Corona is King Handro XII, an older dragonborn who has led Corona since before Hadrashar was discovered. He is seen as aggressive by his peers, but his people love him for his policies to increase the influence of Corona. He rules from the ancestral capital of Corona, Savil.
