a beautiful world teeming with life, deep oceans, temperate mountains, but not a single living soul...   ...this wasn't the case 50 years ago, a massive population for an earth-like inner planet of 15 billion, with the passing of one day however all contact was lost and all 15 billion (give or take) souls...   ...were gone...   the planet suffered no natural or man-made disaster, no inner struggle, no nuclear, chemical, or civil war occurred.   the following years brought great scrutiny to the newly dubbed "Space Croatan" and much research was done. Scientists examined computer and machine data, treasure hunters and looters picked the abandoned cities looking for profit, and United Federation Experts searched high and low for a single trace for the missing people. Eventually when little was found the UF quarantined the system and left it alone.
