Astarian, the god of magic

Astarian was once a mortal Anoralfar gifted or cursed with the ability to glimpse the future. When Vildoros Maladir died and his people sought ways to bring him back to life, Astarian warned that this would bring only ruin. Some elves believed him and left the Capitol, but they would not follow Astarian. Instead they took to the forests to the east, becoming the Ithilalfar.
A small group of elves followed Astarian west where they built a tower for them to live in and gather arcane knowledge. Soon after, wizards from across the land gathered here and formed the order that is now known as the Ludum Precontatio.
It is said that one night, Astarian saw a vision of a great star falling to Verdraxis, causing massive destruction. To stop this cataclysm he flew into the astral plane into the stars path and used his magic to absorb its essence. He never returned and it is unclear whether or not he survived. There are some that believed he not only survived but the energy he absorbed gave him the power of a god.
