Na'grek Empire

A young and vibrant new player on the world stage, the Na'grek Empire is the first attempt to unify all Hellion clans into a singuar, globe spanning framework in order to defend themselves against both the beasts and zealots of the world

Structure

Despite naming themselves an Empire, it would be more accurate to describe it as a confederacy of many Clans being organized around a single focal point, that being Emperor Thal'grax and his direct family. Thal'grax has through both warfare and diplomacy earned oaths from all the leaders of the Clans that constitute the Empire, and it is expected that these leaders will honor these oaths whenever they are invoked. These invocations of oaths are often done through Thal'grax's children, that travel alongside the Clans and keep in contact with each other to ensure cooperation between the member Clans. Beyond this expectation of assistance when requested, Clans are allowed to maintain their old hierarchies and traditions as they see fit.

Culture

The Empire is too young and loosley organized to have a distinct "cultural identity" yet, but given that the largest member Clans originate in the Border Wall, there are common cultural ideas among them, such as respect for combat prowess, religious dedication to ancestors in general and The 10 Kings in specific, and a strong emphasis in indiviudal deeds.

Public Agenda

The stated goal of the Na'grek Empire is to unite the disparate Hellion Clans across Verden in order to protect them both from aggresive monsters, but also from having their cultural identity erased by large, organized movements such as the Church of the World's Lords.

Military

As the Clans begin to consolidate, they also begin to pool their manpower in order to assist each other in times of need. These bands are known as Oathbands, and are lead by the most accomplished warrior in the Oathband, taking the title of Oathbearer. They are named Oathbands because to form them every individual member has to make a Oath to protect both the other members of the Oathband and also assist in whatever goal the Oathband was made to do (such as hunt a specific monster or retake recently lost Clan grounds). These arragements can be as temporary as a single battle or last for several years. These Oathbands vary widely in size and composition, with detractors of the Empire comparing them to gangs of thugs or bandits . The Oathband system is encouraged by the Empire as a way to build friendships across the various Clans.

Laws

Clans are expected to handle their own people according to their own laws, the Empire has not existed long enough to start enforcing such overarching mandates across the constituent Clans. But as power begins to consolidate certain unspoken agreements have begun to emerge and its only a matter of time before they are written down. These "laws" are born out of pragmatic considerations and are mostly in regards to clans assisting each other in times of external threats, such as monster attacks and other such aggresors.
