Dexraven - Northern Quarter
"Sure, ya think it's a marvelous idea, stacking houses on top of each other until they're taller then the Felder Trees of the Deep Vale... until you're forced to live in the Roots, pickin' through trash, dodgin' the shit of a hundred people. Even folks on the middle floors gotta worry about the stench rising; that and the crime. People on top don't have it so good either. Sure, the magic's good for keepin' the houses up, but one good lighting strike and yer a gonner." ~ Galmiphi Lilbys Qimyra Spiqys, Elder's Rising Commando
Demographics
While the original residents were exclusively human, few remain as this Quarter has a quickly growing number of Elder Bloods and Cursed Ones in its population.
Government
The Nobel's Spire, a collection of 223 nobels, rule the city in a vast and intricate game of politics. The city is divided into four quarters, with the North considered the poorest and most unruly, the East containing many of the tradesmen and factories, the West containing the wealthy and affluent as well as a booming market that acts as "The Gateway to the North", and the South Quarter holding the government district, standing armies, mage and scholarly academies. In the center of the city lies the actual Nobel's Spire, from which the nobels from various Quarters come to debate and vote on pressing subject. However, since any new legislation requires a two thirds ratio vote, the Spire is often deadlocked with Nobels waiting for various sides to bribe them before choosing sides. The power of a nobel's vote also depends on which Quarter they hails from, as wealth and resources are often crucial in enacting any legislation. Nobels are selected from established human families, though a highly ambitious and successful Human might be able to establish their own house, should they play their cards right. It is a highly corrupt for of government, however, due to the fear that the increase in Elder Race and Cursed One population has brought, the nobles are secure in their position.
Defences
The massive Walls of the Godforged shield the city from the outside world, while also segregating the Northern Quarter from it's neighbours. Security is tight, and it's often harder to move between Quarters then it is to enter the actual city.
Industry & Trade
The Northern Quarter is almost completely isolated from the rest of the city, and so have set up their own sub-economy, ranging from bartering to manufacturing necessities to sell. Very little gets imported or exported from the Northern Quarter, outside of illicit goods.
Infrastructure
The North Quarter is a desolate place, devoid of many of the goods and riches that the city attracts. However, there is a thriving black market here, run between the Thieves Guild and the Elders Rising. Besides that, there are thousands of small shops, rooftop farms, and poor artisans and craftsmen providing basic necessities to their communities.

Architecture
When humanity began crowding the limits of Dexraven, they began building up. Though most of the base buildings were made of stone, it soon became too expensive and higher buildings were made of wood augmented with magical runes to prevent decay or fire. The growth of the Northern Quarter boomed when the gates opened and Elder Races poured in seeking safety and opportunity, pushing the Quarters limits and causing another boom in building. This time the quality of the buildings significantly lessened, and so the higher houses can be extremely dangerous. Most of the architecture is plain and practical, though some people will add an artistic structural flair or art to an area.
