The History of Meldohr the Great
Important parts (in order of appearance)
This document clearly covers 62 years, but it is unclear what the starting and ending years are as they use a different convention for the current date.
City is recorded as having a population of 500,000 and is stated to be the largest Auturan city, though the book calls it "Kahlenton".
Meldohr comes into power and immediately is tasked with investigating methods to stop Sokta.
After 10 years of nothing, he is contacted by Annumur personally and told the other primal gods are unwilling to help deal with Sokta while it is only on the material plane (primeval gods are much more powerful when it comes to concepts but have difficulty interacting with any specific plane). She is the only primal god with care for human existence and gives instructions for fighting off Sokta.
The exact details of these instructions are unclear since parts of the script are written in a variation of Dwarvish but they seem to involve travelling around the world to gather some important components for a set of towers that let the primal gods siphon their power much more easily.
The Auturans decide not to risk teleportation as they only have vague descriptions of the locations (remember to list below) and they know that while teleporting you aren't bound to the material plane in the same way as conventional travel, which might risk allowing Sokta to slightly misdirect their teleport into the ground or air.
Instead, they recall the vulture automaton from the front lines of the war against the Sovan Empire and ride it around the world to the locations described. Consequently, the Auturan military in the north no longer have the vulture's support in destroying enemy ships and their defence rapidly crumbles.
One page briefly mentions the procedure for building the towers; they are constructed with a combination of granite and some unrecognisable materials and the special components being gathered are intended to be inserted into the top of the tower.
The final 10 years of his reign are perhaps the most tragic ones. The records say the city of Hazarlaton continued as normal for these years while the Vergasii slowly destroyed the rest of the nation, the citizens of Hazarlaton being fully aware the entire time. The reign ended with a tone of defeat; no new leader was planned to be elected and Meldohr starved to death as the city no longer had access to the food imports it relied upon and he valued the lives of his people over his own.
