[IMPORTANT] Access Modifiers
Verandin is a very big place with lots of information that is only known to specific characters and access modifiers are used to separate what different characters know. There are three access modifiers in total, though only two of them are important to know.

[GENERAL]: Available to everyone, no checks required. This also applies to articles with no modifier.
[DEPENDENT, UNIMPORTANT], [DU2]: Information about the world that most common people wouldn't have any chance of knowing, but player characters sometimes do. Feel free to read these articles, but your character will not necessarily know the information so ask before using it in session.
[DEPENDENT, IMPORTANT], [DI3]: Much like unimportant articles that depend on the character, your character has a chance to know this information but it might require a check or depend on backstory. The difference is that articles marked with this are more important to the campaign than character dependents, so they should not be read by the player unless the character knows it.
[HIDDEN], [H4]: No characters will start with access to this article and will have to discover it by adventuring, asking the right people, etc.
In summary, [GENERAL] and [CD] can be read safely, ask before reading [PD], and don't read [HIDDEN] (unless your character is allowed to).

A world occupied by both man and machine, Verandin is home to a wide range of creatures along with powerful and sometimes colossal "Automata". For the past thousand or so years, the island has been occupied by the Sanura, the Vergassii, the Tribes of Bakh and other communities, though those three are the main ones. 181 years before the campaign starts, an event named "The Awakening" occurred and all the Automata that laid vacant for the past thousand years were rejuvenated with life. The Emperor's Vulture returned to the peak of Mt. Hondeyna, the Turtle Automaton began to spray water over the swamps of Verandin once again and the Worm Automaton continued ravaging the landscape of the desert and a few bordering villages.
